Lerg was returned to the AHL by the Sharks on Sunday. The 29-year-old has already set a career-high in NHL games this season with six. He has yet to record a point though and doing so is going to have to wait now that he's headed down to the American League.
Lerg was recalled from the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL. Lerg has appeared in three games during the 2015-16 NHL season and is yet to score a point. His recall provides forward depth for San Jose, but between the uncertainty of whether or not he'll be inserted into the lineup and the fact that he registered just one shot on goal in his three prior appearances, Lerg is not a viable fantasy option.
Lerg was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Monday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. Lerg was recalled to the parent club Thursday for the second time this season, but he'll once again make the trip back to the minors. The 29-year-old figures to be in line for another promotion if the team is in need of forward depth at any point.
Lerg was recalled from AHL San Jose on Thursday in the wake of an injury to Joonas Donskoi, who may not play due to a lower-body injury, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. Lerg has four points in just as many games for the Baby Sharks this season. He figures to be up with the parent club until it is determined that Donskoi is back to full strength.
After just a single game up with the Sharks, Lerg has been reassigned to AHL San Jose. Lerg was grabbing just his third NHL game on Monday, in which he had no points and five hits.
