  • Tavares continues to reign terror on goalies, scoring his 25th goal of the season Thursday against Vancouver in a 4-3 overtime win. Tavares' goal came in the first period off an impressive cross-ice pass from Josh Bailey, and the Islanders captain rarely makes mistakes with a gaping net staring at him. He also registered seven shots on net and played 22:07, most among Islanders forwards, and now has 57 points in 66 games this season. Despite losing key players during the offseason, that Tavares continues to put up close to point-per-game numbers shows just how good he is, and also how little help he's been getting. He's a franchise player who deserves a starting spot in virtually all fantasy formats, and has some appetizing matchups coming up against the Jets and Hurricanes, who've had trouble preventing goals all season.

  • Tavares fashioned two assists in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Edmonton. Both setups went to Anders Lee, giving Tavares his 14th multi-point effort on the year. It's pretty much been the status quo for the star pivot, as he's right on pace to produce 70 points -- with 19 of those on the power play -- for the second straight season.

  • Islanders' John Tavares: Scores in 5-2 loss
    By RotoWire Staff

Tavares scored in the second period of Sunday's 5-2 loss to Calgary. When the Ontario native found the back of the net, he made it 4-1 with the contest already nearly out of reach. This performance is just one in a line of solid outings for Tavares, who has four goals and two assists in his last seven games.

  • Tavares notched an assist and an empty-net goal in Thursday's 3-0 win over Montreal. Sure, this secondary helper and unchallenged goal aren't the two most impressive points of Tavares' career, but there's no stopping his second-half hot streak. Through the season's first 39 games, Tavares posted a modest (by his standards) 27 points; in the 21 games since, he's ripped off a dozen goals and a baker's dozen of assists. He's given us no reason to think he'll slow down now.

  • Islanders' John Tavares: Breaks goal drought
    By RotoWire Staff

Tavares scored the game-winner in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Devils. The former first-round pick went the past eight games without scoring a goal until Sunday. Still, that goal gives Tavares five points in the past five games. In addition, no offensive players on the Islanders see more ice time than Tavares, averaging 20:15 minutes per game. Heading into the thick of the playoff hunt, the 26-year-old will have the chance to be a valuable fantasy weapon.
