Barrie notched an assist, two shots on goal and a minus-3 rating in Thursday's 8-4 loss to the Coyotes. Barrie has been in the lineup for six straight games as the Predators navigate multiple injuries on defense. He has three assists in that span, as well as eight blocked shots and 13 shots on net. Predators' Tyson Barrie: Still riding pine in Nashville
Barrie (healthy scratch) was almost dealt to the Flames at the trade deadline, but ultimately a deal did not get done, Emma Lingan of The Hockey News reports. Barrie was out of the lineup for the 11th straight game Saturday against the Blue Jackets, and he has played in only five games since the end of December. With just one goal and 11 assists in 35 games this season, Barrie has to be seen as a failed experiment by the Preds since they acquired him in the Mattias Ekholm trade last year. Barrie is expected to become a free agent in July and will look to ply his trade with another team next season.... See More ... See Less -
Predators' Tyson Barrie: Nabs power-play helper
Barrie recorded a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Coyotes. Barrie set up a Roman Josi tally in the second period. Those two defensemen were paired together Saturday, a rarity considering Barrie was a healthy scratch for four of the Predators' six games before the All-Star break. His helper Saturday was his first point since Dec. 15. The 32-year-old is at 12 points, 48 shots on net, 36 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 33 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Predators' Tyson Barrie: Returning Saturday
Barrie (upper body) will return to the lineup Saturday against Arizona, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports. Barrie had missed Nashville's last 11 contests with the injury. The 32-year-old defenseman has a goal and 11 points through 30 games this season. Barrie will likely return to a third-pairing role with Dante Fabbro serving as a healthy scratch.... See More ... He hasn't played since Dec. 23, and it's not clear when he might be available. He was last in the lineup Dec. 23. When he's ready to return, Barrie could challenge Luke Schenn for a spot on the third pairing. Barrie (upper body) is expected to miss Friday's game against Dallas. Barrie, who last played Dec. 23, has a goal and 11 points in 30 outings with Nashville in 2023-24. Nashville made the offensive blueliner a healthy scratch four times in the span of seven games from Dec. 2-12.... See More ... See Less -
