Bourque has sustained an upper-body injury in Friday's road game against the Flyers and will not return, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports. The forwards in Nashville are spread thin between this latest development, Miikka Salomaki (undisclosed) on IR, and center Paul Guastad deemed unfit to play Friday due to an upper-body injury. Look for the team to provide an update on Bourque's status ahead of Saturday's home game against the Sabres.
Bourque recorded his fourth point of the season, assisting on Cody Hodgson's game-winning goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Sabres. It should come as no surprise that Bourque struggles to put points on the board every year, since that is not really his focus. He continues to skate mainly in a checking-line capacity, and is one of the team leaders in shorthanded ice time, averaging roughly two minutes per game. As a result, Bourque's fantasy value is limited to the deepest of leagues only.
Gabriel Bourque signed a one-year, $866,250 contract with Nashville on Thursday.
