  • Pysyk scored a goal and posted four shots in 26:05 of ice time during a 3-2 loss to the Lightning on Saturday. The 25-year-old now has four goals all season, but he scored twice this weekend. In the last 17 games, Pysyk has three goals and seven points. His four scores and 14 points this season are already career highs, and his 26-plus minutes during Saturday's game were also, by far, a season high. Pysyk's playing time could continue to be higher than normal moving forward with Florida falling farther out of the playoff picture.

  • Pysyk recorded a goal, an assist, two shots and four blocked shots during Friday's loss to Minnesota. While it was a solid fantasy showing from Pysyk, it was also far from the norm. After all, the 25-year-old defenseman has just three goals and 13 points for the campaign. Additionally, his 66 shots, 78 blocked shots, eight PIM, 52 hits and minus-2 rating don't move the needle, either. It's best to leave Pysyk to cavernous seasonal settings.

  • Pysyk assisted on the game-winning goal against St. Louis on Monday. While the 25-year-old defenseman has posted respectable offensive numbers of late (one goal and four points through his past eight games), he's still nothing more than a desperation fantasy option in most settings. Pysyk is averaging just 18:49 of ice time per game and doesn't receive consistent power-play time. He's also registered just 56 shots through 57 games this season.

  • Panthers' Mark Pysyk: One point in last 12 games
    By RotoWire Staff

Pysyk has a single assist in his last 12 games, averaging 19:12 of ice time during that span. The former Sabre hasn't gotten in on the scoring very often in his first season in Sunrise, as evidenced by his seven points in 41 games. Pysyk is essentially a stay-at-home defenseman that's never tallied more than 11 points in a season, but it's worth noting that his 43 shots on goal, 30 hits and 49 blocked shots all have him on pace to best his previous career highs by a significant margin.

  • Pysyk dished out a helper in a 4-3 overtime loss to Boston on Monday. The stay-at-home defenseman got onto the scoresheet for just the fourth time in 26 games this season by grabbing the secondary apple on Jaromir Jagr's goal midway through the second. Pysyk averages nearly 18 minutes per game but just doesn't produce enough at this point in his career to make him worthy of fantasy consideration.
