Wiercioch (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Dean Brown of TSN 1200 reports. Wiercioch has missed the Senators' last three games with an upper-body issue, but is now healthy, and eligible to draw back into Ottawa's lineup if called upon. The 25-year-old blueliner will be a healthy scratch for Saturday's tilt against the Coyotes, however, as the Senators' have won four games in a row, and have opted to stick with a winning formula heading into Saturday evening's contest.
Wiercioch (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, but was on the ice for the team's optional skate Wednesday, Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun reports. Wiercioch suffered an upper-body injury in last Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets, and it cost him last Saturday's game. as well. There's been no clarification of the injury beyond upper-body, and there' been know signification of when he'll next rejoin the lineup. His next chance will come Saturday against the Coyotes, but there's no indication that will be the point and the Senators will have to activate him prior to him playing.
Wiercioch (upper body) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Flyers, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Wiercioch left Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets with an undisclosed upper-body injury and did not return. While the Senators have not confirmed that he suffered a head injury, that seems like the most likely scenario, so it's possible he could miss multiple games. Regardless, Wiercioch will not take the ice Saturday.
Wiercioch suffered an upper-body injury during Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets and will not return, Steve Lloyd of TSN reports. Wiercioch's night ends with him seeing just 7:21 of ice time before suffering the injury, but he did manage to make an impact in the box score (one sot on goal, one blocked shot, two penalty minutes). His next chance to return will come Saturday against the Flyers, and the team should provide an update on his status at some point prior to that.
Wiercioch notched a power play assist in Saturday's win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wiercioch earned a spot on the second line in his fifth season with the Senators. The 25-year-old defenseman has been valued as the safety and does not take offensive risks jumping up on a rush. However, being on the second line and getting ice on the power play could translate into consistent points as the season progresses.
