  • Wiercioch was a healthy scratch Wednesday against Detroit. Mark Borowiecki replaced the 25-year-old on the third line, while the move also made room for newcomer Dion Phaneuf. Wiercioch hadn't picked up a healthy scratch since Dec. 6, recording only one point since that date. He remains off of fantasy radars.

  • Wiercioch (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Dean Brown of TSN 1200 reports. Wiercioch has missed the Senators' last three games with an upper-body issue, but is now healthy, and eligible to draw back into Ottawa's lineup if called upon. The 25-year-old blueliner will be a healthy scratch for Saturday's tilt against the Coyotes, however, as the Senators' have won four games in a row, and have opted to stick with a winning formula heading into Saturday evening's contest.

His next chance will come Saturday against the Coyotes, but there's no indication that will be the point and the Senators will have to activate him prior to him playing.

  • Senators' Patrick Wiercioch: Sitting out Saturday
    By RotoWire Staff

Wiercioch (upper body) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Flyers, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Wiercioch left Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets with an undisclosed upper-body injury and did not return. While the Senators have not confirmed that he suffered a head injury, that seems like the most likely scenario, so it's possible he could miss multiple games. Regardless, Wiercioch will not take the ice Saturday.

  • Wiercioch suffered an upper-body injury during Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets and will not return, Steve Lloyd of TSN reports. Wiercioch's night ends with him seeing just 7:21 of ice time before suffering the injury, but he did manage to make an impact in the box score (one sot on goal, one blocked shot, two penalty minutes). His next chance to return will come Saturday against the Flyers, and the team should provide an update on his status at some point prior to that.
