  • Canucks' Alexandre Grenier: Returns to minors
    By RotoWire Staff

Grenier was reassigned to AHL Utica on Tuesday. Grenier was inserted on the top like with Daniel and Henrik Sedin for Saturday's game against the Penguins, but that plum assignment didn't last long, as he only ended up with 6:17 of ice time. More than five years after hearing his named called by the Canucks in the third round (90th overall) of the 2011 draft, Grenier is still getting acclimated to NHL life, having only seen nine games of action at hockey's highest level. He's secured 16 goals and 24 helpers over 54 games with the AHL's Comets this season -- complementing 130 points over three prior minor-league campaigns -- so he may blossom into an NHL regular next year.

  • Grenier will slide up to the top scoring line with Daniel and Henrik Sedin for Saturday's game against the Penguins, Blake Price of TSN 1040 reports. Grenier was just recalled from AHL Utica on Friday, and now he is featuring as a top-six forward. Not a bad weekend for the youngster. He has a chance to be a nice low-priced sleeper in DFS play with the golden opportunity to skate on the top line.

  • Canucks' Alexandre Grenier: Recalled Friday
    By RotoWire Staff

Grenier was recalled from AHL Utica on Friday. The winger only has two games under his belt in the NHL this year, but his AHL numbers -- 40 points in 54 games -- show that he's a capable scorer. Whether that translates to the NHL is a different story, but it's a possibility.

  • Grenier was recalled from AHL Utica on Friday, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 reports. The Canucks are going through something of a crisis coming off of their bye week, as five of their players are displaying symptoms of mumps, with Troy Stecher having the only confirmed diagnosis. As a result, Grenier could get an immediate opportunity to play, albeit likely in a bottom-six role. The 25-year-old has put up 15 goals and 23 assists in 51 games with Utica this season.

  • Canucks' Alexandre Grenier: Demoted to minors
    By RotoWire Staff

The Canucks reassigned Grenier to AHL Utica on Tuesday. Grenier's demotion indicates Sven Baertschi (foot) is likely nearing a return to the Canucks' lineup. The 25-year-old winger has tallied 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 16 games with AHL Utica this season, and will likely be one of the first players Vancouver turns to when dealing with injuries up front going forward.
