Nugent-Hopkins potted his 16th goal of the season and added an assist in Saturdays win over the Avalanche. Nugent-Hopkins has been producing more of late, notching three goals in his last seven games. His 38 points in 75 games are disappointing, but he's centering the second line and playing on the power play, so the opportunities are there. If he can build off back-to-back multi-point outings against Colorado and finish the regular season strong, he could be worth a look in some playoff pools.
Nugent-Hopkins dished out two helpers in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Avalanche. It looked like Nugent-Hopkins was going to miss out on all the fun, but his late contributions were key to this comeback victory. His first assist came on Drake Caggiula's game-winner with 2:11 to play, while his second came on a Leon Draisaitl empty-netter 90 seconds later. Nugent-Hopkins came in with just two points in his past nine games, but his scoring rate will likely rise if Draisaitl's move to the second line in place of Jordan Eberle extends beyond the third period of this contest.
Nugent-Hopkins picked up a pair of assists -- including one on the power play -- in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against the Blues. Nugent-Hopkins has come alive lately with two goals and six points over his past seven games. The 23-year-old pivot is enjoying one of his most productive stretches of the season. Even though the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft might never be a superstar like his teammate and fellow top pick Connor McDavid, the Oilers' second-string center is a decent depth play in most fantasy pools.
Nugent-Hopkins scored a goal and registered three shots on net during Wednesday's win over Florida. While it's a relatively mild offensive outbreak (two goals and two helpers through four games), it still represents one Nugent-Hopkins' better runs this season. The 23-year-old pivot cannot find any traction in the points column, and his 8.2 shooting percentage is well below the 11.6 mark he posted over the previous three campaigns. It isn't out of the question to count on Nugent-Hopkins to continue providing more offense through the end of the year, but it's also worth noting that he's clearly the No. 2 center in all situations behind Connor McDavid. A speculative grab could pay off, but you'll also want to have a short leash with RNH.
Nugent-Hopkins registered a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Flyers. Nugent-Hopkins came in scoreless with a minus-4 rating over the past seven games, so this was a welcome turnaround. His .48-point per game pace is well below the .71 mark the 23-year-old center had coming into the season, as playing on the third line has really taken its toll.
