Hartnell notched his eighth and ninth points of the season in Tuesday's second period against San Jose. Hartnell joined Ryan Johansen, Brandon Saad, and Ryan Murray as one of the four Blue Jacket skaters to score two points Tuesday with his goal and assist. The left wing opened the scoring in the second period with a goal. Then he collected an assist when the puck hit his skate and ricocheted off a stick and the goalie before Boone Jenner slapped it into the back of the net. Hartnell has scored three goals in his last four games, and he has another opportunity to continue the trend Thursday in Los Angeles.
Hartnell scored a goal on his only shot, added an assist, laid two hits and went plus-2 against the Devils on Tuesday. Hartsy's gotten things going recently, tallying five points in the last six games after opening the year with just a single point and a minus-5 rating in the Jackets' first four contests. He's gotten his physical game going more to go with his offensive touch, too, having racked up 20 hits in that same six-game span.
Hartnell scored his second goal of the season and added an assist in a 6-3 loss to the visiting Leafs on Friday. Hartnell also finished the night as one of five Jackets forwards to not have a minus rating on the night. Hartnell has been okay with three points in five games, but the Jackets are now 0-5 and are having major issues keeping the puck out of their own net, so Hartnell's plus-minus rating (minus-5) could be a bit of a liability until Columbus improves defensively.
Scott Hartnell scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 preseason win over the Predators.
Scott Hartnell scored his 28th goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's shootout loss to the Islanders.
