Gaborik is a candidate to be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Oilers, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Gaborik, who has been a healthy scratch twice this season, checks in with 10 goals and 19 points in 51 games to date, numbers that reflect the fact that the 35-year-old's days as a high-end goal-scorer are behind him.
Gaborik scored a goal and chipped in an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Nashville. Both points came on the power play, giving the 25-year-old a pair of two-point games with three goose eggs in between. Gaborik only has 17 points in 43 contests this season, so he's a tough sell in most formats, but it might be worth watching if his assignment next to Anze Kopitar and Jarome Iginla on the team's top line continues to bear fantasy fruit.
Gaborik scored a goal and added an assist during Monday's overtime loss to Minnesota. Following a nine-game point drought, Gaborik was a healthy scratch against Anaheim on Saturday. While it's certainly a positive to see him respond with his first multi-point game of the year, it also has to be frustrating for fantasy owners and the organization. Between injuries and inconsistent production, Gaborik should be left to the waiver wire in the majority of seasonal leagues. He's still an intriguing flier in daily contests because of his upside, though.
Gaborik was listed as a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Ducks, LA Kings Insider reports. The team is reportedly looking to deal the veteran before the trade deadline. However, Gaborik is 35 years old and has four years left on his contract so it might not be terribly easy to move him. He is scoreless over his past nine games and he has just 13 points on the season. At this point he is only worth a look in deeper fantasy pools until he starts to show some consistency. Perhaps a change of scenery will get him back on track.
Gaborik recorded a goal, three shots on net and a minor penalty with a plus-2 rating during Wednesday's win over Colorado. With five goals, nine points, 33 shots and a plus-6 rating through his past 12 games, Gaborik is rounding into fantasy form. The veteran is well past his prime but still offers enough scoring upside to warrant attention in plenty of seasonal settings. Additionally, he's currently presenting nice value is daily contests.
