Nichushkin had an assist and a shot in just 10:20 of ice time in Tuesday's win over Winnipeg. Nichushkin hasn't been able to rekindle the magic of his rookie season, but he's showing a little more consistency on the scoresheet, putting up three assists over his last five games. The erratic ice time is concerning though.
With an assist in Tuesday's loss to the Kings, Nichushkin grabbed his first point in six games. After appearing to break out of his slump in early December, it has returned. Not only was Tuesday's assist his first point in six games, he's put up points in just two of his last 15 games.
Nichushkin potted a pair of goals in Sunday's loss to the Islanders. Nichushkin missed Saturday's tilt with a lower-body injury, but the ailment apparently isn't bothering him anymore. The two tallies helped snap a lengthy cold spell, as the 20-year-old entered the contest without a point in eight straight.
Nichushkin (lower body) will make his return to the lineup Sunday against the Islanders, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. The 20-year old Russian's absence will be limited to just one game, and he will be looking to get back onto the scoresheet upon his return. Nichushkin has all of the tools to be an elite player in the league, but has gone pointless in his last eight games and hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 8.
Nichushkin (lower body) won't play Saturday against the Devils, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Nichushkin sustained a lower-body injury in Thursday's tilt against the Predators, and will be forced to miss at least one game as a result. The 20-year-old winger is still considered day-to-day with the ailment, however, meaning he may be able to return to action Sunday against the Islanders. Radek Faksa will draw into Dallas' lineup Saturday in Nichushkin's absence.
