  • Carrier will be a healthy scratch against the Canadiens on Wednesday, The Buffalo News reports. Carrier went back-to-back games with a minus-1 rating, only to follow that up with a goose egg in the box score in a tough 4-2 home loss to the Maple Leafs on Monday. The rookie possesses strong two-way skills and projects well as a second-round pick from the 2013 draft; perhaps he'll pick up on some X's and O's that aren't as clear when he's on the ice.

  • Sabres' William Carrier: Back in action Saturday
    By RotoWire Staff

Carrier (knee) will play Saturday versus the visiting Maple Leafs. It's been a long-time coming for the second-round pick of the 2013 draft. He'd been away from game ice since Feb 2, but figures to give the Sabres a boost as a bottom-six forward who plays a well-rounded game. The rookie has tacked on six points (four goals, two assists) along with a plus-2 rating over 35 contests. He's also shown some grit with 96 hits over that span.

  • Sabres' William Carrier: Nears return
    By RotoWire Staff

Carrier (knee) returned to practice Thursday and should be available Saturday against the Maple Leafs. Carrier, who last played Feb. 2, has logged just four goals and six assists in 34 games this season, relegating his fantasy utility to deeper formats. Justin Bailey was demoted to AHL Rochester on Wednesday, so Carrier will likely take his spot in the lineup.

  • Sabres' William Carrier: Starting to skate
    By RotoWire Staff

Carrier (knee) is back on the ice, The Buffalo News reports. Carrier has a bone bruise in his knee and has not played since Feb. 2. This is his second time back on the ice after skating briefly in early March, and although he's not scheduled to undergo surgery, he still has no timetable for return. The spark-plug winger played himself onto the team after spending the first month of the season in the AHL, and he's scored six points in 35 games in his rookie season. Acquired in the trade that sent Ryan Miller to St. Louis, the 2013 second-round pick looks like he's well on his way to carving out a bottom-six role in the Sabres' long-term plans.
