Schneider was sent down to AHL Rochester on Saturday. Schneider had played sparingly with the parent club, despite three forwards -- Nicolas Deslauriers (knee), Jack Eichel (ankle) and Tyler Ennis (groin) -- simultaneously injured. Over Schneider's four games with the Sabres, he was able to notch an assist with a plus-2 rating, proving capable of at least being a fill-in option when needed.
Schneider was called up to Buffalo on Saturday. It's tough to say how long Schneider's stint with the big club will last as he was granted only two games before being reassigned to AHL Rochester on Nov. 13. In those two games though, he managed an assist and four shots on goal while averaging just 7:49 of ice time, so maybe he will be able to cut out a role for himself on a struggling Buffalo squad this time around.
Schneider was sent to AHL Rochester on Sunday. The 26-year-old was hot in the AHL before getting called up, and scored one goal in two limited appearances in the NHL, but he'll head back to the minors for the time being. If the Sabres are looking for a scoring boost, it could be Schneider who gets called up to give the team a shot.
Schneider was recalled from AHL Rochester on Wednesday. Schneider began the 2016-17 season with the Sabres' minor league affiliate but after tallying 15 points in his first 10 games, the 26-year-old was rewarded with a call up to the big club. The playmaking left winger will look to bolster the Sabres' offense as the team currently ranks second to last in goals scored (25) this season.
Schneider signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sabres on Thursday. Schneider spent most of the 2015-16 campaign in the minors, but was highly productive, notching 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) in 54 games with AHL Binghamton and 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 19 games with AHL Rochester. The 6-foot-1 winger's ability to rack up points in the minors would seem to suggest he could potentially develop into a solid offensive contributor in the NHL, but at 25-years-old, time is of the essence for Schneider. The New York native will likely get a chance to compete for an Opening Night roster spot in training camp.
