Gaudet was sent back to the AHL on Monday, Craig Morgan of the Arizona Republic reports. Arizona was busy on Monday and picked up several depth forwards at the trade deadline. Gaudet was sent down to Springfield to open up room on the roster. The 22-year-old has spent most of the season in the AHL, but played 12 games for the Coyotes, registering a goal and two assists.
Gaudet scored his first goal on two shots and added two hits in a 6-3 win over the Stars on Thursday. In his fifth game since being called back up from AHL Springfield, Gaudet tallied his first goal of the season. The goal also puts the 22-year-old on a two-game point streak. With center Boyd Gordon still reportedly being weeks away from returning, this may be time for Gaudet to show that he's got what it takes to make it at the NHL level.
Gaudet was recalled by the Coyotes on Tuesday. Gaudet will supply Arizona with additional depth at center while Boyd Gordon, who is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury, is sidelined. Gaudet has tallied a single assist in five games with the Coyotes this season.
Gaudet was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Sunday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. Gaudet tallied just one point and posted a minus-2 rating in five games with the Coyotes following his recall on Oct. 26. He will now return to the AHL to open up a roster spot for Dustin Jeffrey, who was recalled to replace him on the roster.
Gaudet was recalled from the Springfield Falcons of the AHL on Sunday. With top-line center Antoine Vermette (lower body) ailing, Gaudet was called up to provide some depth down the middle. The big 22-year-old had eight goals and 20 points in 71 games in the AHL last season. Gaudet isn't a big-name prospect and will likely serve in a fourth-line, grinder type of role, so there's no need to pick him up to fill Vermette's void.
