  • Filip Chlapik: Contract terminated

Chlapik was waived for the purpose of terminating his contract Thursday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Chlapik has only made one NHL appearance this season after drawing into 31 games with the Senators last campaign, so it's possible he requested to have his contract terminated so he could seek more lucrative opportunities overseas. The 2015 second-round pick's time in the NHL may have already come to an end.

Chlapik was placed on waivers by the Senators on Thursday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports. The Senators reassigned Chlapik to AHL Belleville on Sunday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Brought up from taxi squad

Chlapik was recalled from the taxi squad Thursday. Chlapik has yet to make his season debut, but he's eligible to take the ice for Thursday's matchup against the Canucks. However, the 23-year-old may simply be pregame injury insurance. He produced six points and 71 hits over 31 games last season while averaging just 8:46 of ice time.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Seeing second-line duties

Chlapik has been skating on Ottawa's second line during training camp, Brent Wallace of TSN.ca reports. Chlapik struggled with the big club last season, notching just six points in 31 contests, but he was decent with AHL Belleville, picking up 10 goals and 22 points in 37 games. The 23-year-old is poised to skate on the Senators' second line and second power-play unit this season, so his NHL numbers should improve, but he likely won't score enough to be worthy of a roster spot in most fantasy formats.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Signs one-year pact

Chlapik put pen to paper on a one-year, two-way deal with the Senators on Tuesday. Chlapik is currently playing on loan with Sparta Praga in the Czech league but will rejoin the Senators for training camp. While the 23-year-old center should have a good chance of securing a spot on the 23-man roster, he's far from a lock and will have to work hard to earn his place.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Heads down to minors

The Senators reassigned Chlapik to AHL Belleville on Wednesday. Chlapik was brought up for Tuesday's game against the Predators, and the 22-year-old forward scored a goal on two shots in the 3-2 loss. If Anthony Duclair (undisclosed) and Colin White (undisclosed) aren't healthy for Thursday's matchup versus the Canucks, expect Chlapik to be recalled again.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Summoned by parent club

Ottawa promoted Chlapik from AHL Belleville on Tuesday. Anthony Duclair (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Tuesday against the Predators, so Chlapik will be on hand as an insurance policy. The 22-year-old forward has notched five points in 30 games with the big club this campaign.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Sent down to minors

Chlapik was demoted to AHL Belleville on Friday. Chlapik logged 9:33 of ice time against the Coyotes on Thursday in which he registered one hit, one shot and one block. • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Back from AHL

The Senators recalled Chlapik from AHL Belleville on Sunday. Both Jean-Gabriel Pageau (neck) and Bobby Ryan (not injury related) are uncertain to be available Monday against the Devils as the Senators kick off their post-All-Star break schedule, so Chlapik and Drake Batherson were summoned from the minors to provide some extra depth at forward. In 23 appearances at the NHL level this season, Chlapik has generated two goals and three assists.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Back to Belleville

Chlapik was assigned to AHL Belleville on Saturday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Appearing in four games since being promoted to the top level, Chlapik failed to find the scoresheet. With the Senators on their bye week, it makes sense to assign him to the minors and maximize the number of reps afforded to the 22-year-old. He should rejoin the big club ahead of its game Jan. 27.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Brought up to big club

The Senators promoted Chlapik from AHL Belleville on Thursday. Chlapik has bounced between the NHL and AHL throughout the campaign, notching five points in 18 games with the big club and 11 points in 20 appearances with Belleville. He could crack the Senators' lineup as soon as Friday against the Red Wings.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Reassigned to minors

Chlapik was demoted to AHL Belleville on Wednesday. Chlapik remains bogged down in a nine-game pointless streak, though he is averaging just 9:01 of ice time during that stretch. A few games in the minors could help the center rediscover his scoring touch and this is likely not the last we've seen of Chlapik in the NHL this year.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Scores go-ahead goal

Chlapik netted a goal on three shots, dished three hits and added two PIM in Friday's 2-1 win over the Flyers. Chlapik was busy for skating only 6:54 in the contest. His tally at 17:09 of the second period would stand as the game-winning goal. The fourth-liner has found a groove recently, with four points in his last five games and five points in nine appearances overall. He's also added 18 hits and eight PIM. Chlapik isn't known for consistent offense, but the Czech forward can mix it up physically.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Bangs home first goal

Chlapik scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes. The 22-year-old opened the scoring when James Reimer gave up a generous rebound on a shot by Jonathan Davidsson, which Chlapik happily hammered home. The 22-year-old has three points in six games since his latest promotion to the NHL, but as yet the 2015 second-round pick hasn't been able to escape the Senators' fourth line, giving him marginal fantasy value at best.

  • Senators' Filip Chlapik: Promoted to top level

The Senators recalled Chlapik from their AHL affiliate Thursday. Colin White is out long term with a hip flexor injury and Artem Anisimov will be sidelined for at least another week with a lower-body issue, so Chlapik could be in for an extended stay with the big club. The 22-year-old pivot has notched one goal while posting a minus-7 rating in six appearances with AHL Belleville this season.
