  • Canucks' Alex Burrows: Out Saturday
    By RotoWire Staff

Burrows (illness) won't suit up for Saturday's game against the Blues, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports. Burrows' absence shouldn't impact many fantasy owners' lineups, as the 34-year-old winger has only notched 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) and 113 shots on goal in 67 games this season. He'll hope to return to action Tuesday against Winnipeg.

  • Canucks' Alex Burrows: Skates with team Tuesday
    By RotoWire Staff

Burrows (undisclosed) resumed practicing with the team Tuesday, Jon Abbott of TSN1040 reports. Burrows missed Monday's matchup with the Jets after taking a puck to the foot from the NHL's reigning hardest shot champion Shea Weber. Joining his teammates on the ice is a good sign the 34-year-old could be available against the Avalanche on Wednesday. We should know more about the winger's status after the Canucks' pre-game skate.

  • Canucks' Alex Burrows: To sit Monday
    By RotoWire Staff

Burrows will skip Monday's game against the Jets with an undisclosed injury. Burrows played the full game against Nashville, so it remains a bit unclear when the issue surfaced (if it's even an injury). In his absence Monday, the Canucks will add Alexandre Grenier to the lineup, and appears likely to slot into Burrows' spot on the second line. Expect another update on the 34-year-old winger ahead of Wednesday's contest, possibly clarifying the reason behind his absence.

  • Burrows registered two assists in a 4-2 win over Nashville on Saturday. He also skated to a plus-2. Burrows' apples were both of the secondary variety, coming on goals by Derek Dorsett in the first period and Bo Horvat in the second. He has been just about as underwhelming as they come in terms of fantasy this season, as the former 67-point-getter has just 19 points to go with a minus-9 rating and 107 shots on goal through 65 games. That's a 24-point pace, so it's likely Burrows will end up with the lowest point total over a full NHL season since his sophomore campaign way back in 2006-07.
