Burrows posted an assist with a plus-1 rating in Sunday's 4-2 loss against the Islanders. Burrows, one of the team's key acquisitions at the NHL trade deadline, has picked up the pace in April. After posting no goals and just one assist in the final eight games in March, Burrows recorded two goals and four points with a plus-2 rating in six April outings. That includes a goal and plus-1 rating on April 6 against Boston, the first-round opponent of the Senators.
Burrows (upper body) will be back in the lineup Saturday against the Jets, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports. Burrows' injury evidently was minor, as he had only missed Thursday's road game against the Wild as a result. The agitating veteran with a scoring touch has mostly been residing in a bottom-six role since his trade from Vancouver at the trade deadline, thus limiting his appeal to some of the deeper leagues.
Burrows scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Avalanche. The goal came on the power play. Burrows now has six points, including four goals, in six games since joining the Sens. Check your wire -- he could be available. Playing close to home may just give Burrows' career a bit of an uptick.
Burrows recorded a goal and an assist with three shots on net and a plus-2 rating during Monday's win over Boston. That's two multi-point showings through three games with Ottawa for Burrows, which makes him an intriguing grab in the majority of seasonal leagues. Additionally, he's also currently providing nice value in daily contests. Burrows has registered 120 shots and 53 PIM through 58 games to provide decent peripheral coverage, too. Still, while things look peachy now, it would be surprising to see Burrows continue tilting the offensive needle to this degree through the end of season.
Burrows scored both of Ottawa's goals in his team debut Thursday against the Avalanche. GM Pierre Dorion was criticized for surrendering prospect Jonathan Dahlen in a deal for Burrows, but the veteran winger will change that perception in a hurry if he continues producing like this. Despite posting just four points in his final 20 games with the Canucks, Burrows skated in a top-six role on a line with Derick Brassard and Mike Hoffman. One game against the worst team in the league isn't a definitive sample size, but there's no denying that the four-time 25-goal scorer's stock is on the rise following the change of scenery.
