  • Giordano registered a goal, two assists, two shots on net, a minor penalty, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating Friday night against Dallas. It was a monster cross-category showing for Giordano. The veteran defenseman has seen his offensive numbers drop this year, but he's still provided solid fantasy value with 11 goals, 33 points, 130 shots, 52 PIM, 163 blocked shots and a plus-21 rating. It's worth noting that Giordano is beginning to shoulder less of an offensive role with Dougie Hamilton and T.J. Brodie in their prime years, so the elder statesman's stock is in decline heading into the 2017-18 campaign.

  • Giordano opened the scoring with his 10th goal Thursday against the Canadiens. Giordano took advantage of Montreal giving red-hot goalie Carey Price the night off, beating backup Al Montoya to reach double-digit goals for the fourth consecutive season. His plus-1 performance also improved Giordano's rating to a career-best plus-18.

  • Giordano picked up an assist, plus-1 rating and five blocked shots with a hit in Tuesday's 2-1 win against the Kings. Giordano is among the league leaders in blocked shots (144), but he also chips in offensively to complement a shiny plus-17 rating, making him an attractive play in most standard fantasy formats.

  • Flames' Mark Giordano: Sinks game-winner
    By RotoWire Staff

Giordano netted the game-winner in overtime Tuesday for a 6-5 road win over the Predators. The Toronto native was not about to be left out of a high-scoring affair, also providing a secondary helper on the game's first goal. Giordano puts icing on the cake for his fantasy owners based on his team-leading plus-14 rating and three shorthanded points through 60 contests. It's tough to envision a fantasy league setup where Giordano wouldn't be useful.

  • Giordano scored for the second consecutive game in Saturday's loss to the Canucks. Giordano had gone 10 straight games without a goal before striking in back-to-back games. The 33-year-old is a workhorse who plays in all situations and should be owned in most leagues. After scoring 21 goals last season, his eight goals this time around are a letdown, but he's got 24 points and is sporting a plus-11 rating, so it's hard to complain. Giordano will be a key contributor for the Flames as they battle down the stretch for a playoff spot.
