Streit registered a goal in Monday's 3-2 overtime win against Winnipeg. Streit has just three points in his last 10 games, and hasn't produced much else fantasy-wise. He'll try to stop the rolling Capitals on Wednesday, a matchup that doesn't look favorable for Streit.
Streit dished out a helper and finished plus-1 in Tuesday's win over the Red Wings. The veteran defender has produced seven points in the last 10 games. As the Flyers make a push for a spot in the playoffs, they'll need Streit's leadership as well as his points. While injuries have exposed his age (38) this season, he may have enough left in the tank to help both the Flyers and fantasy squads in this run for the playoffs.
Streit recorded three assists and two PIM in the first period of Saturday's 4-2 win over the Coyotes. Streit has drastically declined in production this year after notching 52 points last season, but he does have tallies in two straight after going pointless in six straight games. On a more positive note, the 38-year-old blueliner hit 400 career NHL points, which is a milestone for the veteran to celebrate. The former ninth-round pick has every capability of playing better as the season winds down.
Streit scored on a second-period power play and picked up a couple penalty minutes Thursday in a 3-2 win over Minnesota. The veteran blueliner had just a single lonely assist in 18 games prior to Thursday's action, but he's continued enjoying solid power-play minutes nonetheless. It makes sense that the Flyers would give Streit the benefit of the doubt after he racked up a spectacular 30 power-play points last year, but he has only four of those over 40 games during an injury-shortened 2015-16 campaign. It's worth noting that Streit had been showing signs of waking up even before scoring this goal, as he'd racked up some impressive shot totals recently, so it's not inconceivable that he could look a little more like his old self down the stretch.
Streit has struggled to find his offensive rhythm, posting just three points in his last 18 games. Streit battled some injuries in the fall, but has struggled to tally assists since he's been healthy. In 35 games this season, he's managed just eight helpers, well off the pace of the 43 assists he posted in 81 games last season. At age 38, Streit's engine may just be wearing down. The emergence of Shayne Gostisbehere hasn't helped, as the young defenseman has supplanted Streit on the top power play unit.
