Kings' Trevor Lewis: Ends long scoring drought in win

Lewis tallied a goal on three shots, a block and a hit in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Stars. Lewis finally broke out of his month-long lapse in scoring with a goal on Tuesday. He had previously gone 16 games without netting a goal and surely has to have let out a sigh of relief when the puck hit the back of the net. Despite not scoring in the last month, he has racked up 32 hits and six blocked shots during that same scoring drought.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Finds back of net Tuesday

Lewis pitched in a goal and two penalty minutes Wednesday night in a 4-3 loss to the Avalanche. Lewis hadn't scored in nearly a month but was hard at work in limited ice time -- his 9:25 of ice time Wednesday was the fewest minutes he's received all year, with a tripping penalty not helping matters. With the 29-year-old predominantly in a bottom-six role, it'll be hard for him to maintain fantasy value outside of the deepest fantasy leagues.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Gets all over scoresheet in win Tuesday

Lewis netted his fourth goal of the season and had two assists in Tuesday's win over the Oilers. A very productive night for the third-liner, who also dished out five hits in 14:06 of ice time. Lewis isn't a huge offensive contributor, but he's scored twice in his last four games and is up to nine points in 29 games on the year. He's capable of contributing in a bottom-six role for a Kings team that has an 11-point lead in the Pacific Division -- making him valuable in some deeper formats.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Notches third goal of the season Tuesday

Lewis notched his third goal of the season, his first since November 3, in a 5-3 loss Tuesday. Lewis, who had a four-game point streak in late October and early November, had cooled off considerably before sustaining a foot injury but found the scoresheet in his second game back. He has three goals and two assists on the season.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Officially activate Saturday

Lewis (upper body) has been activated from injured reserve and will play Saturday night against the Maple Leafs, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports. Lewis is all systems go after missing the past seven games with the upper-body ailment. He should reprise his role as a penalty-killing specialist, someone who averages 1:43 of ice time in such situations.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Expected to play Saturday

Lewis (upper body) is expected to return Saturday night versus Toronto, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports. Lewis, who has been out since Dec. 1, reportedly will come off injured reserve in order to be in the active lineup Saturday. At this point, it appears that only a setback would prevent him from lacing up in this road game against the Buds.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Out again Thursday

Lewis (upper body) remains out of the lineup Thursday against the Canadiens, John Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Lewis participated in morning skate Thursday, but it appears he's not quite ready to rejoin the lineup for the evening's contest against the Canadiens. However, it sounds as though the forward isn't too far from returning, with his next chance now coming Saturday against the Maple Leafs.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Could return to lineup shortly

Lewis (upper body) rejoined the team in Montreal and may be a candidate to rejoin the lineup Thursday, LA Kings Insider reports. The Kings have two games remaining on their long road trip so the fact that Lewis joined the team in the middle of the trip is an encouraging sign but he'll need to get through at least one morning skate before jumping back into the lineup.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Moves to IR

Lewis (upper body) was placed on the injured reserve list Monday, retroactive to Dec. 4, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. Lewis already missed the previous five games with an upper-body injury and now he's headed for an elongated absence with his designation to the IR. The right winger hadn't previously sat out this season, but now fellow right winger, Jordan Nolan, will have added opportunities on the ice during Lewis' undetermined absence.

Kings' Trevor Lewis: Out again Saturday

Lewis didn't participate in line rushes during pregame warmups, indicating he won't play Saturday against the Sabres,'s Joe McDonald reports. Lewis has been out since suffering an upper-body injury in practice on Dec. 4, and has missed five-consecutive games over that span. Given the length of his absence, Lewis will likely need to log several full practices before drawing back into the Kings' lineup.
