    • Released from PTO

News: David Booth was released from his professional tryout offer by the Panthers on Wednesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: David Booth had a solid year with the Maple Leafs last season, scoring seven goals and six assists in 59 games. He hasn't broken the 30-point threshold since 2010-11 when he was on the Panthers. Booth may latch on with another team or this could be the end of the line for the 30-year-old.
    • Panthers Ink Booth To PTO

News: David Booth signed a professional tryout offer with the Panthers on Wednesday, Craig Davis of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: A former 31-goal scorer for the Panthers in 2008-09, David Booth shouldn't be counted on to rediscover his shooting touch in his return to South Florida. The 30-year-old saw his goal total drop to seven with the Leafs last season, his lowest total since making his NHL debut in 2006-07. With no guaranteed contract attached to his name, Booth will need to prove he's a superior bottom-six option compared with the likes of Vincent Trocheck, Rocco Grimaldi, and Quinton Howden, three young players who may or may not be ready for full-time NHL roles to open the season.
    • Two Goals For Leafs' Booth

News: David Booth scored twice Friday in a 6-3 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: That's five goals in the last five games for David Booth, who has been throwing a ton of rubber on net of late (18 SOG over those five games). It's hard to believe that he only had a single goal in the previous 41 (!) games, but such is life. He's clearly a bright spot on the gloomy Leafs right now and could be worth a look if you're desperate for offensive help in a deeper league.
    • Leafs' Booth Enjoying Five-Game Streak

News: David Booth picked up an assist and added a game-high six shot attempts in Wednesday's shootout win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Silver linings have been hard to find for the the Leafs in the second half, but count David Booth's recent uptick in production as one of the them. The third-line winger is enjoying a five-game point streak, during which he's collected three goals and two assists while putting 20 shots on net. Those in deeper formats may want to consider investing.
    • Leafs' Booth On Three-Game Point Streak

News: David Booth scored the Leafs' only goal in a 6-1 loss to the Blues on Saturday. It stretched his point streak to three games and three points, including two goals.
Analysis: He has delivered 11 shots in those three games and is quietly provided value off the wire. He might be able to get you through an injury.
    • Toronto's Booth Nets Second Of Season

News: David Booth notched his second goal of the season in Thursday's loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: He now has a point in each of his last two games, but just seven (two goals, five assists) in 42 games this season. His scoring days are behind him, so that limits his fantasy value.
    • Leafs' Booth Shoots Five Times, Gets Assist In Win

News: David Booth was active in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Panthers, notching an assist and attempting five shots on goal.
Analysis: The five shots were the second-highest total of the season for David Booth, who typically doesn't see many favorable scoring opportunities in his bottom-six role. Unsurprisingly, his point totals (one goal, five assists in 41 games) remain rather depressed, a trend that should continue while he barely averages over 10 minutes of ice time per night, with none coming on the power play.
    • Leafs' Booth (Nose) Back In Saturday

News: David Booth (nose) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Blues, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.
Analysis: Initially feared to have suffered a concussion after taking an elbow to the face Wednesday against the Ducks, David Booth was fortunate to escape with merely a fractured nose. The injury ended up forcing him out of Thursday's game, but he was back on the ice for Saturday's morning skate wearing a full face shield and appears ready to play. The forward said he suffered no symptoms from the hit, with the only complications he experienced being watery eyes.
    • Leafs' Booth Out Thursday

News: David Booth (head) is out for Thursday's game against the Sharks, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: With David Booth joining the list of banged up Toronto forwards, the Leafs have recalled Matt Frattin from the AHL.
    • Leafs' Booth (Head) Out Thursday

News: David Booth (head) won't play Thursday against the Sharks, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Analysis: David Booth suffered a fractured nose Wednesday, and may have undergone concussion tests, though that is a bit unclear. He will miss at least Thursday's game against the Sharks, making his next chance to return Saturday against the Blues. Matt Frattin will draw into the lineup Thursday in his place.
