Devils' Travis Zajac: Powers win on power play

Zajac scored the first goal of the game and assisted on Reid Boucher's game-winner -- both on power plays -- in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Boston. In a bizarre game that saw the Devils get utterly dominated in shots by a ridiculous 40-15 margin, Zajac and Reid Boucher were difference makers, making good on their precious few scoring chances. Not typically much of a scorer, Zajac's potted goals in consecutive games, part of a recent streak of productivity that's seen him notch seven points in his last seven contests. The Devils don't do a whole lot of scoring these days, but when they do get on the board, Zajac has typically been involved.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Lights lamp in loss

Zajac potted his 13th goal of the season in Sunday's loss to the Hurricanes. Zajac's tally came midway through the second period and just 50 seconds after New Jersey's first goal, and it appeared as though the Devils would be able to overcome their initial 3-0 deficit, but no one was able to find twine the rest of the way. The center is now at the 40-point plateau for just the second time since the 2010-11 campaign, making for a decent -- though not elite -- option.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Notches pair of goals in win

Zajac tallied two goals, two blocked shots and a plus-1 rating in a 3-0 win over the Sharks. This was Zajac's third multi-point outing in his last nine games, and he has now has recorded four goals and three assists in that span. Interestingly enough, the 30-year-old hasn't scored much at home of late, as all seven of his points in this nine-game span have come on the road. Zajac is continuing to receive just over 19 minutes of ice time each game, and still holds decent fantasy value in some leagues.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Helps goal in overtime win

Zajac registered a power-play goal and assisted on the game-winning score in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win against Nashville. Zajac stopped a scoreless streak of two, notching points in three of his last six appearances. The 30-year-old is on ice for just under 20 minutes a game, allowing for decent -- yet unspectacular -- production from the center. The former first-round pick does have seven multi-point outings on the season, allowing for consideration in deep formats.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Provides helper in win

Zajac assisted on the lone goal of Sunday's win over the Kings. It was mostly a defensive battle, but Zajac helped set up David Schlemko's power-play tally just over five minutes into the contest that eventually proved to be difference. The 30-year-old hasn't had his most productive season thus far, but he's heating up a bit of late with points in five of his last six games and could be worth considering in deeper formats.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Pots shorthanded tally Monday

Zajac scored his eighth goal of the season -- a shorthanded marker -- in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Monday. His goal with 2:23 remaining gave some late hope to the Devils, who couldn't find a way to solve Henrik Lundqvist a second time to force overtime. Zajac now has a modest 26 points in 46 games this year, but seven of those have come in the last seven games so he's worth looking at in deeper leagues if you're in need of an offensive spark.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Snaps slump with four-point explosion

Zajac assisted on the Devils' first three goals -- two of them on the power play -- then scored one of his own, which held up as the game-winner in Thursday's 6-3 win over Ottawa. That tally was Zajac's first since way, way back on Nov. 6, when he put one home against the Blackhawks. It also put a firm endpoint on his recent slump, as the 30-year-old had put up only a lonely assist over the last nine games coming in. He was able to make some magic in this one with rookie Joseph Blandisi and breakout winger Kyle Palmieri, so look for that trio to stick together in the near term.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Snaps seven-game pointless drought Saturday

Zajac collected an assist in Saturday afternoon's 2-0 win over Arizona. Zajac snapped a seven-game scoring slump with a secondary helper on Reid Boucher's game-winning goal in the first period. He now has 19 points in 38 games this year, a pace of exactly 0.5 points per game which is right in line with his career average of 0.55 across 663 NHL contests.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Helps out in victory over Carolina

Zajac snapped a five-game pointless skid with a pair of assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's win over Carolina. The helpers accounted for Zajac's first points in five games since missing seven games with an upper-body injury. He still hasn't scored a goal since netting four in as many games from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6, and with a modest 17 points in 29 games this season, Zajac is once again failing to post stats that live up to his first-line assignment.

Devils' Travis Zajac: Will play Saturday

Zajac (upper body) will play Saturday against the Ducks, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. The Devils will be happy to have Zajac back in the lineup for Saturday's tilt against Anaheim, as he's played quite well this season, tallying 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 24 games. The former first-round pick is expected to return to a top-six role skating alongside Kyle Palmieri on the Devils' second line.
