  • Ex-Penguin Ebbett Bound For KHL

News: Andrew Ebbett has agreed to a contract with Barys Astana of the KHL, Igor Eronko of Sports-Express reports.
Analysis: It was reported earlier in the summer that Andrew Ebbett had signed on to join SC Bern in Switzerland's top league, but it looks like he'll have a different international destination in 2015-16. The forward was a frequent call-up from the minors in the Penguins last season, logging 24 appearances. The move to Europe should give him a little more stability.
  • Ex-Penguin Ebbett Headed To Switzerland

News: Andrew Ebbett signed a contract Thursday with SC Bern of the Swiss Elite League, David Pagnotta of TheFourthPeriod.com reports.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett split his action between the Penguins and their AHL affiliate at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season. Seeing light minutes with the parent club, he finished with a goal and six points in 24 games, but scored at a point-per-game clip with the AHL club. He'll have a chance to shoulder a large offensive burden with Bern, and if he performs well enough, he could earn himself a one-way NHL deal if he elects to return to North America next season.
  • Penguins Send Ebbett To AHL

News: The Penguins assigned Andrew Ebbett to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday.
Analysis: In a corresponding move, the team recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot, with Andrew Ebbett's demotion possibly a positive indicator with regard to the progress of injured forwards Evgeni Malkin and/or Patric Hornqvist, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
  • Pens' Ebbett Recalled Saturday

News: Andrew Ebbett was recalled by the Penguins on Saturday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett has already played in 21 games for Pittsburgh this year but it would be somewhat surprising if he saw significant time on the ice during this current stint. Nevertheless, he's available for the Penguins moving forward.
  • Pens Reassign Ebbett To Minors

News: Andrew Ebbett was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett suited up in all three of the Penguins' games since his Monday recall from the minors, failing to pick up any points on his seven shots on goal. The fourth-liner's return to the AHL will allow Beau Bennett to crack Sunday's lineup against the Predators, after he had served as a healthy scratch in the Pens' previous contest.
  • Pens Recall Ebbett

News: Andrew Ebbett was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett was reassigned just before the All-Star break to get some extra work in, and has now been recalled along with two other forwards to provide depth with both Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby expected to miss the first game of the second half. In his last game with the club Jan. 21, Ebbett managed to add another point to his total, giving him six on the season in 18 games.
  • Pens' Ebbett Gets Reassigned

News: Andrew Ebbett was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton after Wednesday's loss to the Blackhawks, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett was one of three Penguins players sent back to the minors with the NHL breaking for the All-Star Game. The depth center has six points in 18 games for the Penguins this season.
  • Pens' Ebbett Placed On Waivers

News: Andrew Ebbett was placed on waivers Thursday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett has provided five points in 17 games for the Penguins this season and had served as a healthy scratch for the last two contests. His placement on waivers would seem to foreshadow the call-up of another forward from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
  • Pens' Ebbett Named No. 1 Star Friday

News: Andrew Ebbett potted his first career goal for the Pens (in 24 games) on Friday and added an assist.
Analysis: He has three points in his last two games, taking advantage of an opportunity to play with Evgeni Malkin. The addition of David Perron -- who will debut in Pittsburgh on Saturday -- likely means that Andrew Ebbett will lose his top-six spot, lessening the odds that his mini-streak continues. The journeyman scored a goal on his birthday Friday for the second time in his career -- he netted his first career NHL goal back on Jan. 2, 2009.
  • Penguins Recall Ebbett From AHL

News: Andrew Ebbett was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Andrew Ebbett was brought up to add another forward to the roster in case Marcel Goc (foot) is unable to play Saturday.
