Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Nets eight goals in 16 games

Maroon had eight goals and six assists in 16 games for Edmonton. The Oilers may have found something here when they acquired Maroon from Anaheim at the trade deadline. Maroon doesn't have the talent of an elite forward but he can be a good complementary wing to one. The Oilers are loaded at forward so it's also not inconceivable that Maroon ends up on the third line next season but still he's someone to remember come draft time in September.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Scores twice in Wednesday win

Maroon scored two more goals in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Canucks. Maroon has been an offensive revelation since coming over from Anaheim, totaling seven goals and six assists in 15 games with the Oilers. He now has a pair of two-goal efforts in his last four, and has definitely raised his future stock with this recent run.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Strikes twice in losing cause

Maroon scored a pair of goals in Saturday's loss to Los Angeles. That's five points in the last two games for Maroon, who is thriving on the second line with Connor McDavid and Jordan Eberle. The 27-year-old has five goals and 11 points in 12 games since arriving in Edmonton and is worth adding for the final stretch. If he sticks on the second line with two talented playmakers, there is no reason he can't continue to find twine.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Thriving in new digs

Maroon scored a goal thanks to a nifty Connor McDavid feed and handed out two assists of his own Thursday in a 6-3 win over the Sharks. Life in Edmonton has been very kind indeed to Maroon, who now owns nine points in 11 games since coming over from the Ducks at the trade deadline. That's just four points fewer than he managed in 56 -- yes, 56 -- games for Anaheim. Of course, it helps that Maroon's enjoying a much bigger role with the Oilers, and if he sticks next to McDavid (after this game, why not?), there's plenty of under-the-radar fantasy value here. It'll probably be a little while until daily formats in particular take his new assignment into account, so Maroon makes for a strong play until his prices start taking his new role into account.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Set to return Thursday

Maroon (illness) worked on a line with Connor McDavid and Jordan Eberle in advance of Thursday's game against the Sharks. The Oilers shuffled their lines around Thursday, with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins out with a minor concussion, so it looks like Maroon's return to the team's lineup will arrive with the added bonus of skating with a pair of skilled linemates.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Out against Arizona

Maroon (illness) has officially been ruled out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Coyotes, Oilers' play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports. Maroon was expected to miss Tuesday's contest anyway after being unable to participate in practice Monday. It seems the move to Edmonton has suited the winger well as he's garnered two goals and four helpers in only 10 games in the great white north. The 27-year-old's fantasy value is climbing with him also contributing with the man advantage and averaging over two minutes of power-play ice time per night.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Iffy for Tuesday

Maroon (illness) missed practice Monday. Maroon, who has recorded two goals and six points to go along with 25 PIM in 10 games since being acquired by Edmonton in a trade with the Ducks, is thus looking iffy for Tuesday's game against the Coyotes. With that in mind, coach Todd McLellan acknowledging Monday that the forward is more likely to make it into the Oilers' lineup Thursday against the Sharks.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Offers points, PIM, hits in win

Maroon tallied a pair of power-play assists, took a minor penalty and dished out three hits in Wednesday's victory over the Blues. Moving to Edmonton -- especially from offense-friendly Anaheim, where Maroon got plenty of shots at top-line minutes -- seemed like it was only going to reduce his already marginal fantasy value, but he's surprised with six points in eight games out of the gate with his new team. Of course, they haven't exactly come with consistency -- he put up four points in his first three games after being traded, then went four straight without impacting the scoresheet before this one. But that hits, PIM and points package plays in a wide variety of fantasy formats.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: Grabs first multi-point game as Oiler

Maroon collected two assists in a 6-3 loss to Columbus on Friday. Playing in just his second game with Edmonton, this was Maroon's first multi-point effort with his new club. Perhaps a change of scenery from Anaheim to Northern Alberta was what he needed (hard to believe, we know), as three of his 16 points in 58 games this season have come in his first two contests with the Oilers.

Oilers' Patrick Maroon: To miss the game Tuesday

Maroon won't play Tuesday in Buffalo, Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal reports. Maroon was traded from Anaheim to Edmonton on Monday and still hadn't arrived in Buffalo for the game Tuesday when the Oilers practiced in the morning. He will likely make his Edmonton debut Thursday in Philadelphia.
