• Voracek Inks Eight-Year Extension With Flyers

News: Jakub Voracek signed an eight-year, $66 million contract extension with the Flyers on Thursday, Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Analysis: It isn't surprising that the Flyers opted to lock Jakub Voracek up long-term after his performance in 2014-15. He exploded last season, racking up a career-best 81 points (22 goals, 59 assists), good for fifth best in the NHL. While fantasy owners shouldn't expect the 25-year-old winger to top 80 points year in and year out, if he can continue to stay healthy, he should continue to be a top fantasy commodity for years to come. Voracek will return to his role on the Flyers' top-line and power play unit in 2015-16.
  • Flyers' Voracek Clears 80 Points

News: With a pair of first-period assists Tuesday against the Islanders, Jakub Voracek surpassed the 80-point mark for the first time in his career.
Analysis: What a season it's been for Jakub Voracek; too bad the rest of the Flyers haven't been able to play up to his level. He's been hot all year, so it's no surprise that he's on an excellent streak right now, with a dozen points over his last eight games.
  • Flyers' Voracek Grabs Two Points In Win

News: Jakub Voracek tallied a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Jakub Voracek has been picking up assists almost at will both of late and on the season, but the goal was just his first in eight games dating back to March 15. The 57th assist moves him into a tie for first in the league with Nicklas Backstrom, and he now sits just two points back of Sidney Crosby's 81 for the league lead in that category as well.
  • Flyers' Voracek Nabs Helper In Win

News: Jakub Voracek's collected his league-leading 56th assist of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: With eight points in his last five games, Jakub Voracek seems set on reclaiming the overall lead in points. He's got five games left to do it. But with the Flyers out of playoff contention, owners should be monitoring his status on a daily basis. It would be hard to imagine sitting Voracek, but coach Craig Berube may want to protect his star from injury in meaningless games down the stretch.
  • Flyers' Voracek: Two Helpers Make 55, Leads League

News: Jakub Voracek picked up two assists in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Sharks. His current point streak now stands at four games and seven assists.
Analysis: He is one of a handful of players who may actually crest the 80-point mark this year. Yep, scoring is down, so guys like Jakub Voracek are even more valuable than before. His 55 helpers now lead the NHL. You know what to do.
  • Flyers' Voracek Collects Trio Of Assists

News: Jakub Voracek racked up three assists in Saturday's loss to the Oilers.
Analysis: That's six points in five games for Jakub Voracek, who is up to 73 points in 74 games on the season. He's second among all players with 52 assists and is just one point back of Sidney Crosby in the NHL scoring race. His consistent point production makes him a must-start every game.
  • Flyers' Voracek Collects Another Assist In Loss

News: Jakub Voracek assisted on the Flyers' lone goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Calgary.
Analysis: Jakub Voracek skated through defenders and then slid the puck to Claude Giroux for a wide open net. He's an undeniable assist-machine this season, but with his team scoring one goal or fewer in five of its last six games, it's getting harder for him to lend a proverbial hand.
  • Flyers' Voracek Scores In Shootout Loss

News: Jakub Voracek scored a goal in Sunday's shootout loss to Ottawa.
Analysis: Jakub Voracek's production has trailed off a bit in the waning games of the season -- he's now fallen into a tie for fifth in points leaguewide. Nonetheless, the Flyers have three away games this week, and Voracek has performed solidly on the road. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
  • Flyers' Voracek Collects Assist In Loss

News: Jakub Voracek assisted on the Flyers' lone goal in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Stars.
Analysis: The Flyers' season looks to be in the tank, so monitor Jakub Voracek's ice time to ensure Coach Craig Berube isn't trying to rest him to prevent a pointless injury. As long as he's playing, Voracek should be in your lineup.
  • Flyers' Voracek Ends Seven-Game Goalless Drought

News: Jakub Voracek found the back of the net and also fired six shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 OT loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: The goal ends a seven-game drought for the 25-year-old Czech, who officially reached the 20-goal plateau for the third consecutive season. Jakub Voracek's 66 points are just four back of the Isles' John Tavares for the league lead, and he and linemate Claude Giroux (61 points) have been nothing short of a two-headed monster this season. It's also interesting that Voracek has evenly split his points between home and away games (33 each), despite the fact that the Flyers are a dismal 9-17-7 on the road this season.
