  • Devils Assign Pielmeier To AHL

    News: The Devils assigned Timo Pielmeier to AHL Albany on Friday, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
    Analysis: The 22-year-old goalie has spent most of this season playing for the Elmira Jackals of the East Coast Hockey League. His assignment seems to indicate that Jeff Frazee with stay with the Devils at least through Friday.
  • Ducks Trade Pielmeier In Four-Player Deal

    News: Anaheim has traded Kurtis Foster and Timo Pielmeier to the Devils in exchange for Rod Pelley, Mark Fraser, and a seventh-round pick in the 2012 draft, the Ducks' official twitter reports.
    Analysis: Timo Pielmeier, who's been skating with ECHL Elmira, will now be assigned to one of the Devils' minor league affiliates. Pielmeier has seen minutes in the AHL and ECHL and his next destination is unclear. He is highly unlikely, however, to dress as a Devil any time in the near future.

    News: Pielmeier was assigned to the AHL on Wednesday, AnaheimDucks.com reports.
    Analysis: Ray Emery was brought up in his place. Pielmeier was a trainwreck in his only NHL appearance this year, allowing five goals on just 12 shots.

    News: Pielmeier was pressed into action in relief of starter Curtis McElhinney on Saturday night. He allowed five goals on 12 shots.
    Analysis: It was a tough game for him to make his NHL debut -- the Blues absolutely swarmed the quackless Decks. He's only in the NHL as long as Jonas Hiller is on the IR. He's not a fantasy option right now.
  • Ducks Recall Pielmeier

    News: Pielmeier was recalled by Anaheim on Wednesday, AnaheimDucks.com reports.
    Analysis: Pielmeier was called up because Jonas Hiller went back on IR with dizziness and fatigue symptoms.
  • Ducks Sent Pielmeier Back To Elmire

    News: Pielmeier has been assigned back to Elmira of the ECHL, according to the Ducks' Official Site.
    Analysis: Pielmeier has had three stints with the Ducks now but is still looking to see his first action in the NHL. With Jonas Hiller being activated from IR, that's probably going to be put on hold for a while.

    News: The Ducks have recalled D Brett Festerling, D Brendan Mikkelson, RW Dan Sexton and G Timo Pielmeier from the minors.
    Analysis: Apart from Sexton, who is a decent prospect, the rest of these players are pretty much just organizational depth and are likely only up to increase the numbers at practice until the Olympics are over. Continue to ignore them in Fantasy play.
  • Ducks add Pielmeier to system

    News: The Ducks traded left wing Travis Moen and defenseman Kent Huskins to San Jose Wednesday for forward Nick Bonino, goaltender Timo Pielmeier and a conditional draft pick.
    Analysis: Pielmeier signed an entry-level deal with the Sharks in the offseason, but the 2007 draft pick remains in junior hockey. He is 30-7-2 with a 2.65 GAA and .915 save percentage this season for Shawninigan of the QMJHL. Pielmeier is nothing more than a long-term Fantasy keeper.
  • Sharks add Pielmeier to organization

    News: The Sharks signed goalies Timo Pielmeier and Tyson Sexsmith to three-year contracts Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
    Analysis: Pielmeier, 18, spent the 2007-08 season with St. John's of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He appeared in 63 games while posting a 23-26 record with a 2.94 GAA. He led the QMJHL in save percentage (.911) and posted one shutout. The Germany native was selected by San Jose in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He is nothing more than a long-term keeper.
