• Khudobin Traded To Anaheim

News: The Hurricanes traded Anton Khudobin to the Ducks on Saturday in exchange for defenseman James Wisniewski, TSN's Jason Gregor reports.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin became expendable for the Panthers once Eddie Lack was acquired to back up Cam Ward, so the move isn't a huge surprise on the Hurricanes' end. The Ducks largely sent Wisniewski to Carolina in order to clear up some cap space, but it's unclear if Khudobin fits into the team's plans for the upcoming season. The Ducks rode the young goalie tandem of Frederik Andersen and John Gibson all the way to the Western Conference Finals last season, and after Khudobin delivered middling production with the 'Canes last season, it's doubtful that he would be viewed as an upgrade over either netminder. Instead, there's a good chance that Khudobin's acquisition could be a precursor to another trade later in the summer.
  • Khudobin, 'Canes Stay Cold

News: Anton Khudobin allowed three goals on 25 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Detroit.
Analysis: That's seven losses in a row now for Anton Khudobin, and he's been tagged for nine goals on 60 shots in his last two starts. It's like a broken record at this point -- loss after disheartening loss, with occasional strong performances sprinkled in just to tease fantasy owners and 'Canes fans.
  • Hurricanes To Start Khudobin Tuesday

News: Anton Khudobin will be between the pipes for Tuesday's game against the Red Wings, Chantel McCabe of FOX Sports Carolinas reports.
Analysis: After Cam Ward was whipped for four goals in Monday's loss to the Sabres, coach Bill Peters will unsurprisingly turn to Anton Khudobin for the second game of the team's back-to-back set. Khudobin has lost his last six starts and was particularly awful in his most recent turn, giving up six goals to the Panthers on April 2. Don't count on him to come through with a dependable performance Tuesday.
  • Khudobin, 'Canes Get Routed

News: Anton Khudobin was lit up for six goals on 35 shots in Thursday's loss to Florida.
Analysis: That's six losses in a row (0-3-3) now for Anton Khudobin, who's generally been far better than this, but also has been wholly unable to recapture the magic that he had last year, when he posted a .926 save mark for Carolina. Not much to see here from a fantasy perspective with the Hurricanes watching another poor season come to an end.
  • Canes' Khudobin To Draw Start Thursday

News: Anton Khudobin will be in the crease for Thursday's game against the Panthers, Chantel McCabe of FOX Sports Carolinas reports.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin has ceded a larger portion of the starting duties to Cam Ward since the latter returned from an illness, but he'll get back into the net Thursday due to his strong career numbers versus the Panthers. In three career games, Khudobin is 3-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and one shutout. Expect coach Bill Peters to return the net to Ward on Saturday against the Flyers.
  • Carolina Turns To Khudobin On Sunday

News: Anton Khudobin is slated to start Sunday's game against the Bruins, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin, who gave way to Cam Ward in the team's last two games, will take aim Sunday against his former squad, the Bruins, who are coming off a key 4-2 win over the Rangers on Saturday.
  • Canes' Khudobin Solid In Loss

News: Anton Khudobin turned aside 28 of 30 shots but was on the losing end of Sunday's 2-1 overtime contest against the Bruins.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin has now turned in a trio of impressive performances in a row as he's allowed just two goals in each, but they've all been in losing efforts as he's lost five consecutive starts. The 28-year-old has seemingly turned a corner in his own individual play, but between giving way to Cam Ward and a lack of offensive support, fantasy owners likely won't get too much out of the goaltender.
  • Canes' Khudobin Stops 22 In Loss

News: Anton Khudobin stopped 22 of 24 shots in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin allowed goals on each of the first two shots he faced, but stepped it up after that as the Hawks didn't score again until an empty netter in the final minute. He's started five straight in net, but the team has gone just 1-2-2 in that span, so while the club may keep turning to him, he'd make for a risky fantasy proposition.
  • Hurricanes Turn To Khudobin On Monday

News: Anton Khudobin is slated to start Monday's game against the Blackhawks, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin, who is thus in line to make his fifth straight start for Carolina, has gone 1-1-2 over his last four turns, allowing 10 goals in that span. He'll take aim Monday at a Chicago squad that had a four-game winning streak snapped by Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Stars.
  • Canes' Khudobin: 27 Saves In Loss

News: Anton Khudobin made 27 saves through overtime in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: It was a good performance, but he's not exactly burning things up with his play. His ratios are well below average and his club plays with the unmistakeable odour of stink. You cannot take the chance of putting him between the pipes.
