Flyers' Claude Giroux: Leads way in six-goal onslaught

Giroux factored into half of Philadelphia's offensive output Thursday, racking up a pair of goals to go with a power-play assist in a 6-3 win over Nashville. When Giroux's on his game, as he has been since mid-January, the results can be deadly. The Flyers' captain has averaged an assist per game over his last nine, rounding the line out with four goals, a plus-6 rating and 33 shots in that span. His slow October is still affecting his season stats, but Giroux has spent most of his time since then rocketing toward a point-per-game pace; he's clearly headed for a finish among the league's top scorers, as usual.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Adds helper in Tuesday's win

Giroux assisted on the go-ahead goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Canadiens. He fired off four shots and also won over 50 percent of his faceoffs. After producing nil in the All-Star game, the assist is a welcome start to the post-All-Star-break playoff run. The Flyers have a brutal schedule in February, with 14 more games to play in the abridged month. The star center -- and owners alike -- will hope this pace continues in that stretch.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Collects two helpers Wednesday

Giroux grabbed two assists as the Flyers downed the Capitals 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday. Giroux has heated up along with linemate Jakub Voracek recently, combining for 19 points in the last eight games. G now has 39 points in 47 games this season and will look to stay hot down the stretch for a Flyers squad battling for a playoff spot.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Flyers and Islanders game postponed

Saturday's matchup between Philadelphia and New York has been postponed. The extreme conditions brought upon by winter storm Jonas have now forced the NHL to postpone a total of three contests. Giroux and the Flyers are scheduled to be back in action Monday against the Bruins.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Skates huge minutes, delivers two points in loss

Giroux picked up a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- in a season-high 24:26 of ice time Thursday in a loss to Pittsburgh. This game didn't even go to overtime, and yet Giroux still played the sort of minutes you'd normally see from a defenseman. At this point, the star pivot's October slump is a distant memory -- he's been clipping along at more or less the typical Giroux rate since the beginning of November.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Tallies goal in shootout win

Giroux scored a goal on three shots and finished plus-1 in Sunday's win in Detroit. He also scored a crucial goal in the shootout that set up teammate Jakub Voracek to score the game-winner. Giroux now has six points in his last five games as he tries to lead his team to an unexpected playoff berth. He'll try to continue the push Tuesday as he faces Toronto at home.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Assists in loss

Giroux had an assist and three shots in Saturday's shootout loss to the Rangers. Giroux is without a goal in his last six games, but has managed to rack up five assists in that time. His contributions haven't been nill, but with just a single goal in his last 11 contests, everyone is looking for some scoring from the captain.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Records three helpers against Bruins

Giroux assisted on all three of Philadelphia's goals in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Bruins. Giroux is scoring at his lowest rate since the 2009-10 season, but 33 points in 41 games is still a very respectable pace. Philadelphia's captain is yet to find the back of the net in 2016, but his excellent chemistry with Jakub Voracek should allow the first-line center to keep making his way onto the scoresheet.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: Collects assist in OT win

Giroux collected assist number 18 in Thursday's overtime win against the Wild. As previously noted here, Giroux's been struggling lately. This assist is just his third point in his last nine games, and he's on pace for his worst offensive season in years. His minus-9 rating isn't helping assuage worried owners. He'll face the Islanders on Saturday, and he'll look to recreate the three-point assault he unleashed on them earlier this season.

Flyers' Claude Giroux: One point in last eight games

Giroux has been quiet of late, registering a lone goal in his last eight contests. The star center has collected eight PIM over the same span, though that certainly won't be enough to appease owners who have him solidly pegged in their daily lineups. Giroux finished minus-2 in Tuesday's 4-3 over Montreal. He'll look to break out Thursday when the Flyers head to Minnesota.
