Lightning's Mike Angelidis: Recalled from minors Thursday

The Lightning have recalled Angelidis from AHL Syracuse, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports. Angelidis was waived by Tampa Bay ahead of the regular reason, but he ultimately cleared waivers and was assigned to Syracuse, where he's spent three full seasons, accumulating 457 PIM in that span. Now with the parent club, he could add plenty of grunt to a Lightning lineup that has been beaten up in a figurative sense, having posted a 3-6-1 record over their past 10 games.

    • Placed on waivers

News: Mike Angelidis has been placed on waivers, reports Renaud Levoie of TVA Sports.
Analysis: No real surprise here, but it did go down to the wire for Mike Angelidis, who was in competition to be the Bolts' 13th forward. He'll be in Syracuse of the AHL if he clears, although he remained on the ice Monday morning at the Bolts' practice.
    • Bolts Re-Sign Angelidis To Two-Way Deal

News: Mike Angelidis re-signed with the Lightning on a one-year, two-way contract.
Analysis: At 30 years old, Mike Angelidis is past his expiration date as a prospect, but he's been a competent organizational depth piece for the Lightning the last several seasons. He appeared in 64 games at AHL Syracuse in 2014-15, logging 20 goals, 18 assists, and 138 PIM.
    • Lightning's Angelidis Recalled From AHL

News: Mike Angelidis was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Thursday, along with goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis and winger Jonathan Marchessault, The Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mike Angelidis didn't have any points in his three NHL appearances this season, but he did tally 20 goals and 18 assists over 64 games for AHL Syracuse. He's unlikely to join the lineup during the playoffs, as the Lightning are merely taking advantage of extra roster spots to provide depth in case of an injury. Angelidis is already 29 years old, and he only has 10 NHL appearances to his name.
    • Lightning's Angelidis Reassigned To AHL Syracuse

News: Mike Angelidis has been reassigned to AHL Syracuse.
Analysis: The 29-year-old forward has just 10 career NHL appearances to his name, with one point and 17 penalty minutes to show for it. Mike Angelidis has been reasonably productive for AHL Syracuse this season, tallying 33 points (17 goals) through 57 games. His demotion indicates that Ondrej Palat (foot) will likely return for Friday's game against the Red Wings.
    • Lightning Recall Angelidis

News: The Lightning recalled Mike Angelidis from AHL Syracuse on Thursday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Mike Angelidis, who has notched 33 points and 138 PIM in 57 AHL contests this season, has one goal in seven career NHL contests to credit. He'll boost the Lightning's depth up front in advance of Thursday's game against the Bruins, with Cedric Paquette and Ondrej Palat banged up.
    • Lighnting's Angelidis Re-Signs On Two-Way Deal

News: Mike Angelidis signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning on Thursday, lightning.nhl.com reports.
Analysis: Mike Angelidis spent nearly all of the 2012-13 season in the AHL and will likely have to fight for a roster spot with the Lightning. At 28-years-old and with just seven games of NHL experience, Angelidis has very little fantasy upside.

News: The Lightning reassigned Mike Angelidis to AHL Syracuse on Wednesday.
