  • Oilers' Pinizzotto Clears Waivers

News: Steve Pinizzotto has cleared waivers, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: As a 30-year-old with just 36 career NHL appearances, Steve Pinizzotto offers little in the way of upside. He scored four points (two goals) in 18 games with the Oilers this season.
  • Oilers Waive Pinizzotto

News: Steve Pinizzotto was waived by the Oilers on Monday, reports.
Analysis: After Matt Fraser was made available off waivers by the Bruins, the Oilers decided to scoop him up, determining he'd be an upgrade over Steve Pinizzotto in the team's bottom six. Pinizzotto provided four points in 18 games during his time with Edmonton, but the long-time AHLer was never viewed as a permanent solution on the fourth line. He's expected to clear waivers and report to AHL Oklahoma City.

  • Oilers Recall Pinizzotto From AHL

News: Steve Pinizzotto was recalled from AHL Oklahoma City on Monday.
Analysis: Steve Pinizzotto had been called up by the Oilers in the middle of October because Jordan Eberle was a game-time decision but ultimately Eberle did play so technically, Pinizzotto has not made an appearance for the Oilers this season. In the AHL, he has not scored a goal but added six assists in nine games played.
  • Oilers Assign Pinizzotto To Minors

News: Steve Pinizzotto was assigned to AHL Oklahoma City on Friday.
Analysis: Steve Pinizzotto was recalled by the Oilers on Wednesday strictly for insurance on the wing, as Jordan Eberle had been ruled a game-time decision for that night's contest against the Kings. Eberle was ultimately able to play and came out of the game without any apparent issues, making it unnecessary for the Oilers to keep Pinizzotto around any longer.
  • Oilers Recall Pinizzotto From AHL

News: Steve Pinizzotto was recalled from AHL Oklahoma City on Wednesday by the Oilers.
Analysis: Aside from a six-game stint with Edmonton, the 30-year-old winger spent all of last season in the AHL. Steve Pinizzotto will likely just give the Oilers some insurance on the wing while Jordan Eberle nurses an injury. However, because Eberle's issue is not a long-term concern, Pinizzotto should return to Oklahoma City in short order.

News: Steve Pinizzotto re-signed with the Oilers on a one-year contract Thursday.
Analysis: Steve Pinizzotto spent most of last season at the AHL level, accumulating 25 points and 183 penalty minutes in 51 contests. He'll function as organizational depth at forward for the Oilers, but doesn't figure to see much action with the parent club.

Analysis: The Oilers called up Steve Pinizzotto on an emergency basis after Tyler Pitlick sat out Tuesday's practice with a sore knee. Pinizzotto will provide depth along the right side if Pitlick is unable to suit up Wednesday against the Ducks.
  • Oilers Acquire Pinizzotto

News: Steve Pinizzotto was traded to the Oilers on Friday in exchange for fellow minor leaguer Ryan Martindale.
Analysis: Steve Pinizzotto appeared in 12 NHL games last season, but has otherwise been a minor leaguer during his career. His best chance of returning to the NHL will come if the Oilers need to add an enforcer to the roster.
