Analysis: After Matt Fraser was made available off waivers by the Bruins, the Oilers decided to scoop him up, determining he'd be an upgrade over Steve Pinizzotto in the team's bottom six. He's expected to clear waivers and report to AHL Oklahoma City.

    • Oilers Assign Pinizzotto To Minors

News: Steve Pinizzotto was assigned to AHL Oklahoma City on Friday.
Analysis: Steve Pinizzotto was recalled by the Oilers on Wednesday strictly for insurance on the wing, as Jordan Eberle had been ruled a game-time decision for that night's contest against the Kings. Eberle was ultimately able to play and came out of the game without any apparent issues, making it unnecessary for the Oilers to keep Pinizzotto around any longer.
    • Oilers Recall Pinizzotto From AHL

News: Steve Pinizzotto was recalled from AHL Oklahoma City on Wednesday by the Oilers.
Analysis: Aside from a six-game stint with Edmonton, the 30-year-old winger spent all of last season in the AHL. Steve Pinizzotto will likely just give the Oilers some insurance on the wing while Jordan Eberle nurses an injury. However, because Eberle's issue is not a long-term concern, Pinizzotto should return to Oklahoma City in short order.
