  • Preds' Lundmark Clears Waivers, Heads to AHL

News: Lundmark (groin) has cleared waivers and will report to AHL Milwaukee, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Given his injury status and tendency for spotty play, it doesn't sound like we will be seeing Lundmark back in the NHL anytime soon.
  • Preds Place Lundmark on Waivers

News: Lundmark (groin) has been placed on waivers, the Nashville Tennessean reports.
Analysis: He's on a two-way contract after signing with Nashville as a free agent during the summer. Lundmark has been on IR all season with a groin injury and hasn't seen any action to this point.
  • Preds' Lundmark Expected Back Soon From Groin Injury

News: Lundmark (groin) sat out Thursday's practice but is expected back soon, according to the Tennessean.
Analysis: "He is still day-to-day," coach Barry Trotz said. "I anticipate he is probably out this weekend. He will probably get back on the ice Sunday or Monday."
  • Predators' Lundmark Out With Groin Strain

News: Lundmark missed Tuesday's team skate with a strained groin, according to the Tennessean.
Analysis: Lundmark possesses a ton of untapped skill and potential, but unfortunately his fantasy ranking does not reflect this. Consider him day-to-day for now.
  • Leafs claim Lundmark off waivers

News: The Maple Leafs have claimed C Jamie Lundmark off waivers from the Calgary Flames.
Analysis: Lundmark will be reunited with former Dion Phaneuf in Toronto, but Lundmark has a long way to go before he gets anywhere close to Phaneuf's Fantasy value. Continue to ignore Lundmark in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
  • Lundmark has three goals since recall

News: Flames C Jamie Lundmark scored his team's only goal during a 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Thursday. Calgary, coming off a 9-1 loss in San Jose on Monday night, tied it with 1:29 left in the second on a power play, striking on what became essentially a two-man advantage when Colin Fraser's stick broke. Jarome Iginla threaded a pass to Dion Phaneuf, whose slap shot was partially stopped by goalie Antti Niemi. Lundmark was at the side of the net to whack in the rebound.
Analysis: Lundmark has three goals in eight games since being called up from the minors two weeks ago. He has been playing all over the place for Calgary, including on the top line, and has been one of the few players to have a good offensive run in January. Still, Lundmark has marginal Fantasy appeal.
  • Lundmark on top line after recall

News: Calgary recalled Jamie Lundmark from the AHL's Abbotsford Heat on Friday and inserted him on the top line with Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow against the Blue Jackets. He had no points in 16:24 of ice time.
Analysis: Lundmark has one goal and three points in seven games this season. He has done well in his limited PT with Calgary, but it still hasn't been enough to keep him in the NHL full time. Ignore Lundmark in Fantasy until further notice.
  • Lundmark earns quick demotion Monday

News: The Sports Xchange reports Flames RW Jamie Lundmark started Monday's game against the Ducks on the line with Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen, but a horrible giveaway that led to the first Anaheim goal put him on the bench for much of the game. He ended up with no points and a minus-2 rating in 16:15 of ice time.
Analysis: Lundmark has played in just two games this season. The former first-round draft pick has pretty much been a bust in his career and has fallen way short of expectations. It's safe to ignore him in Fantasy until further notice.
  • Veteran Lundmark attends prospects camp

News: The Sports Xchange reports Flames C Jamie Lundmark's first prospects camp was 1999, the year he was drafted ninth overall by the New York Rangers. Ten years later, Lundmark found himself again at a prospects camp. Because teams have the option to make players who weren't on the roster for the majority of games the previous season partake in their prospects camp, Lundmark, 28, was alongside fresh-faced draft choices and first-year pros. Lundmark did his best to hide the disappointment, and was doing what he could to make the most of the situation. "It might have been an option (to skip it), but I'm going to make it the best thing for me," he said. "I'll get three days in here, get a good skate in before everybody else. And we're learning new systems and stuff like that, so I'll be a jump ahead of everybody else."
Analysis: Lundmark has played in 259 career NHL games, including 27 for Calgary last season, in which he collected eight goals and eight assists. Still, he's likely ticketed for the AHL's Abbotsford Heat. He's on a two-way contract, while the Flames have 14 forwards on one-way deals. He has been a pretty disappointing pro and has become merely organizational depth for the Flames. Lundmark won't have much Fantasy appeal Draft Day.
  • Lundmark renews with the Flames

News: The Calgary Flames have brought back center Jamie Lundmark and signed forward Jason Jaffray. The moves were announced by the team on Tuesday.
Analysis: Lundmark scored eight goals and added eight assists in 27 games with the Flames last season. He added 15 goals and 37 assists in 54 games with the team's Quad City affiliate in the AHL. Lundmark was the ninth pick overall in the 1999 draft, but he has been a pretty disappointing prospect in his pro career. He is merely roster depth for the Flames and won't have much Fantasy appeal Draft Day.
