News: Brian McGrattan signed a one-year contract with the Ducks on Friday.
Analysis: Brian McGrattan only suited up for eight games with the Flames last season, and did not tally a single point in those contests. He will likely spend most of 2015-16 with AHL San Diego, and will provide the Ducks with some depth at forward in case of injury.
    • Flames' McGrattan Clears Waivers

News: Brian McGrattan cleared waivers Saturday and will report to AHL Adirondack, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.
Analysis: Brian McGrattan had gone largely unused by the Flames through the first half of the season, appearing in only eight games. He'll pick up more ice time in the minors and continue to provide forward depth for the organization.

Analysis: Brian McGrattan has been a healthy scratch nearly every game this season after seeing a fair amount of minutes last year. With the age of the enforcer dwindling, it appears McGrattan's time in the NHL may soon be shuttering as well. The fourth-liner has 27 points and 609 penalty minutes in 317 career games.

News: Brian McGrattan supplied his fourth goal of the season in Wednesday's loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon did the heavy lifting on Brian McGrattan's marker, intercepting an attempted clear by the Ducks and firing a shot that bounced off teammate Kevin Westgarth's glove and then off McGrattan's leg before finding the net. As a fourth-liner who doesn't possess much puck-handling skills, McGrattan shouldn't be counted on for much more than penalty minutes and hits.

Analysis: The upper-body injury sidelined Brian McGrattan for the first two games out of the break, but he'll reenter the fold after making it through morning skate with no further complications. • Flames' McGrattan Out For Thursday

News: Brian McGrattan (upper body) will not play Thursday against the Kings, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 reports.
Analysis: This comes as no surprise, as Brian McGrattan hasn't been participating in contact drills this week. The winger has one goal, two assists, and 95 PIM in 54 games this season.
