Canucks' Henrik Sedin: Scores twice, adds assist in win

Sedin picked up a goal and an assist at even strength as well as a second tally into an empty net Tuesday against Columbus. Henrik's line with his brother Daniel and Jannik Hansen combined for 12 points in Tuesday's game. Sedin's continued the trend of last year's surprisingly high goal total -- 18, more than he'd managed in any of the prior three seasons -- this season, as he's scored five times on just 24 shots. That shooting percentage isn't sustainable, but it reflects Henrik's evolution as a player in his mid-30s. He's not settling for just being the dishmaster all the time.

Canucks' Henrik Sedin: Extends point streak to four games in loss

Sedin extended his point streak to four games with an assist in Wednesday's loss to Pittsburgh. Sedin isn't exactly tearing it up right now, but he's gone four straight games with an assist and is up to eight points in 13 games on the season. The 35-year-old, who recorded his 1,000th career NHL point in Monday's win over the Flyers, is sporting a tidy plus-5 rating on the year. One thing to note, however, is that he's been held without a shot on goal for two straight games and is stuck on two goals this season. He'll produce points as the top-line center, but don't expect a lot of goals.

Vancouver Canucks' Henrik Sedin Finds twine in season opener

Sedin netted a goal in Wednesday's season-opening win over the Flames. A very productive night for Sedin, who skated on a line with his brother and Brandon Sutter, firing four shots on goal and recording a plus-3 rating. Known for dishing out the helpers, Sedin struck Wednesday in the third period with a filthy shot from a tough angle that got past goaltender Karri Ramo. Coming off a terrific 73-point bounce-back campaign in 2013-14, Henrik is picking up right where he left off. He's one of the more reliable point producers around and meshed instantly with Sutter on the Canucks' top line Wednesday. What a start.
