Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg: Showing no signs of age

Zetterberg has been as productive as ever to open 2015-16, racking up two goals and 11 points in the Wings' first eight games. The Swedish star has only failed to register on the scoresheet one time so far, so the absence of fellow top-liner Pavel Datsyuk hasn't harmed him at all. At 34 years old, Zetterberg looks poised to deliver yet another highly productive campaign as long as his healthy holds up.

    • Wings' Zetterberg Picks Up First Postseason Point

News: Henrik Zetterberg picked up his first point of the postseason Tuesday, assisting on Riley Sheahan's third-period power-play goal in the 3-0 victory over the Lightning.
Analysis: Even at the ripe age of 34, Henrik Zetterberg continues to drive the Red Wings' attack, though he's not nearly the goal scorer he was earlier in his prime. His 17 goals during the regular season was the second-lowest output of his career during a year in which he played at least 60 games, and he's found twine just three times since the All-Star break.
    • Wings' Zetterberg To Miss Season Finale

News: The Red Wings will rest Henrik Zetterberg for Saturday's game against Carolina, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Saturday's game doesn't have much significance, so Detroit will give the winger a game off to keep him sharp for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
    • Zetterberg Assists Twice For WIngs

News: Henrik Zetterberg posted up his second consecutive two-point game Thursday, assisting twice in a 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: A tough loss for the Wings, but it's got to be good for them to see Henrik Zetterberg heating up as the playoffs approach, particularly because it looks like they'll need the offense to cover for their inconsistent goaltenders.
    • Wings' Zetterberg Busts Out Of Slump

News: Henrik Zetterberg potted a power-play goal and assisted on the game-winner Tuesday against Carolina.
Analysis: He'd been cold recently, with just a single assist over the last seven games, but Zetter bounced back nicely in this one, providing crucial offense for the Wings as they try to establish their spot in the playoff race. Keep him rolling as the season winds down -- he's way too talented to bench.
    • Wings' Zetterberg Goes Cold

News: Henrik Zetterberg was held off the scoresheet Thursday for the fifth straight game and the eighth time in nine contests.
Analysis: The Red Wings have been struggling mightily as of late, and Henrik Zetterberg's game has been off as well. A player of his talent won't be held down too much longer, but it couldn't be coming at a worse time for fantasy owners.
    • Two Helpers For Wings' Zetterberg

News: Henrik Zetterberg picked up two assists -- one on the man advantage -- but finished minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Arizona.
Analysis: The negative rating is a bummer, but this still ends a three-game stretch off the scoresheet for Zetter. Thanks to a relatively healthy campaign, he's now cleared 60 points for the eighth time in his career, so being 34 years old is not slowing him down.
    • Wings' Zetterberg Picks Up Two More Points

News: Henrik Zetterberg tallied a goal and an assist in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg has been on an absolute tear since the calendar flipped to March, collecting a goal and nine assists in just seven games. He's on his way to another 70-point game, and should be rolled out with confidence.
    • Wings' Zetterberg Collects Three More Points

News: Henrik Zetterberg dished out three assists in Monday's 5-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: After being blanked Sunday, Henrik Zetterberg returned to the score sheet for his third multi-point outing in his last four contests. The 34-year-old hasn't found the back of the net since January, but he's more than made up for that with his 11 helpers in that 13 game stretch. The veteran winger is well on his way to his eighth career 60-point season.
    • Back-To-Back Two-Point Games For Wings' Zetterberg

News: Henrik Zetterberg chipped in a pair of assists for the second game in a row in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: He and Erik Cole both tallied helpers on Justin Abdelkader's first-period goals. "Z" has piled up two assists in both of the games since returning from an upper-body injury and appears to be as strong a fantasy play as any for the home stretch of the season -- as long as he stays healthy, of course.
