Predators' Mike Ribeiro: Handed misconduct in second straight game

Ribeiro was assessed a 10-minute misconduct penalty for the second straight game Monday against Nashville. The Predators suffered their third straight shutout loss at the hands of the Rangers, and Ribeiro's emotions got the better of him late in the game. Clearly frustrated by his lack of production and the team's poor play, Ribeiro played 19:42 before exiting the game for verbally abusing the officials, and head coach Peter Laviolette said after the game that Ribeiro's recent antics would be handled "internally." It remains to be seen what sort of punishment, if any, will be levied on Ribeiro by the team. Sitting him might make the Predators' scoring woes even worse, but clearly something needs to be done to snap the team out of its funk.

      Predators' Mike Ribeiro: Breaks slump

Ribeiro had a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over the Jets, snapping a eight-game stretch without a goal. Breaking the slump is huge for Ribeiro, who has not been as productive as he was last year. Owners will hope that he can carry the momentum into games where the Preds don't rout the opposition 7-0.

      Predators' Mike Ribeiro: Struggling offensively

Ribeiro was held off the scoresheet Thursday against the Maple Leafs. He now has just two assists in his last seven games. Ribeiro had a banner season last year, his first as a Predator, as he lined up as the team's top center on a line with James Neal and Calder Trophy candidate Filip Forsberg. This year, however, after starting the year on that same line, he's been demoted to the second line alongside Craig Smith and Colin Wilson. He's still seeing a decent amount of ice time (17:52) and plays on the second power-play unit, but without Neal and Forsberg flanking him every night, he's not nearly as productive. With just eight points in 15 games, he is currently on pace to fall well short of the 62 points he scored last season. Adjust your fantasy lineups accordingly.

Predators' Mike Ribeiro: Tallies assist Tuesday

Ribeiro picked up an assist in Tuesday's shootout win over the Lightning. Ribeiro has three points in six games this season, all of which were assists. He's been a bit reluctant to shoot the puck, having gone four games without a shot attempt. It's a stat that has hurt fantasy owners more than the Predators, as the team has collectively added 19 goals thus far, fourth best in the Western Conference.

Predators C Mike Ribeiro posts assist in win over Oilers on Saturday

Predators center Mike Ribeiro posted his first point of the season in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Oilers, assisting on linemate Filip Forsberg's second-period goal. The 35-year-old Ribeiro continues to center the Preds' first line in between Forsbrg and James Neal, and looks primed for another solid season offensively. After two sub-50 point seasons - one with Phoenix, one with Washington - Ribeiro has rejuvenated his career in Nashville. He should be a fixture in your fantasy lineup right now.

    • Preds' Ribeiro Re-Ups For Two Years

News: Mike Ribeiro re-signed Wednesday with the Predators on a two-year, $7 million contract, TSN's Aaron Ward reports.
Analysis: The Predators were able to reach a deal with Mike Ribeiro shortly before he was set to hit unrestricted free agency, locking him back in as their No. 1 center. Skating alongside star rookie Filip Forsberg last season, the 35-year-old Ribeiro was able to revive his career, tallying 15 goals and 47 assists across 82 games. He should remain a useful fantasy commodity once again for what projects to be a strong Predators squad.
    • Preds' Ribeiro Logs Two Assists In Game 2 Win

News: Mike Ribeiro collected two assists in Friday's Game 2 win over Chicago.
Analysis: A good offensive outing for Mike Ribeiro, who has just 27 points in 50 career NHL playoff games. With the series tied 1-1, look for Ribero's line with Filip Forsberg and Craig Smith to continue to play a big role up front. With 62 points in 82 regular-season games, it looks like Ribeiro has carried that success right into his sixth career NHL postseason.
    • Preds' Ribeiro Gets Two Points Saturday

News: Mike Ribeiro recorded the game-winning goal and an assist in Saturday's win over the Capitals.
Analysis: It's the second two-point effort in three games for Mike Ribeiro, who also had a two-helper performance Tuesday versus the Canadiens. The move to Nashville continues to prove fruitful for Ribeiro, who has notched 15 goals and 59 points over 76 games in his first season with the Predators.
    • Ribeiro's Two Helpers Lift Preds

News: Mike Ribeiro had the primary assists on Ryan Ellis's game-tying goal in the third period and Filip Forsberg's power-play winner in overtime Tuesday against Montreal.
Analysis: The big night ended a six-game scoreless skid for Mike Ribeiro, who's seen his production -- so strong for the season's first four months -- fall off precipitously in February and March. Fantasy owners won't exactly complain, since Ribeiro's production has increased over last yer and he's likely to hit 60 points for the first time since 2011-12, but late-season slumps are fantasy-team murder.
    • Preds' Ribeiro Finds Twine In Loss

News: Mike Ribeiro notched his 13th goal of the season in Thursday's loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro was able to get a forearm on Ryan Ellis' point shot with 10 minutes remaining in the third period, which ended up deflecting into the net to cut the Preds' deficit to one goal. Though the tally was fluky in nature, it still allowed Ribeiro's bounce-back season to rage on. The center has 13 goals and 40 assists over 66 games.
