Kings' Drew Doughty: Joins scoring parade against Bruins

Doughty was named the first star of Tuesday's 9-2 shellacking of Boston after netting a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- along with a plus-3 rating. While Doughty rightfully gets a lot of respect as one of the best all-around blueliners in the league, his offense tends to only come in fits and starts. Well, he's in the middle of quite a nice fit right now, having compiled seven points (six of them on the man advantage) in the last five games. Before that, he managed just two points in nine, but before that stretch, Doughty picked up 12 points in 15 games. So it's been a season of streaks, but if anyone's a good bet to finish strong, it's Doughty. Incidentally, he's already matched last season's 17 power-play points -- the second-highest total of his career.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Mixed results Wednesday

Doughty netted the puck while shorthanded in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Avalanche. Still, he went minus-2 in the game. Doughty simply outraced the opposition to come up with his first shorthanded goal of his career. Unfortunately, he's been a bit lackluster in his own zone lately based on a minus-3 rating through the past five contests.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Nets power-play goal in win over Sharks

Doughty scored a power-play goal in 28:37 of ice time in Sunday's overtime win over the Sharks. Another busy night for the 26-year-old, who was named second star of the game Sunday. Doughty has scored twice in his last four games and now has 27 points (nine goals) in 48 games on the season. Doughty has logged over 28 minutes of ice time in four of his last five contests and is an automatic roll in fantasy.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Grabs two assists in win

Doughty assisted on a pair of goals in Monday's win over the Red Wings. Both helpers came in the third period, as Doughty helped seal the win with a go-ahead power-play assist before setting up the insurance goal on an empty net. The defenseman is having another stellar campaign, with 26 points and a plus-16 rating through 42 games.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Five points in last five games

Doughty notched the game-winning goal on the power play in Saturday's 2-1 win over Philadelphia. He has five points, including three assists, in five games since Christmas. Three of those five points have come with the man advantage. Six of Doughty's seven goals have come on the power play. He's actually on pace to top 50 points, a feat he hasn't accomplished since his sophomore season. Doughty has twice finished second in Norris trophy voting for the league's best defender, but this may be the season that all changes.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Rarely kept off the ice in OT win over Arizona

Doughty scored his sixth goal of the year and had an assist in a season-high 33:24 of ice time in Saturday's overtime win over Arizona. A monster night for Doughty, who scored early in the third period on the power play, before helping set up Anze Kopitar in overtime. With 21 points and a plus-10 rating in 34 games, Doughty is having a very successful fantasy campaign thus far. The workhorse blueliner has now scored five times on the power play and is a big reason why the Kings are sitting third in the Western Conference. Keep him rolling.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Nets power-play goal to keep Kings alive Tuesday

Doughty forced overtime with a power-play goal in the third period of Tuesday's 2-1 win against the Canucks. Doughty got some help from a few bodies in front of Jacob Markstrom prior to his third goal of the season. He also chipped in three blocks in 31:40 without breaking a sweat. Doughty hasn't been great on offense this season, but retains value on the man advantage and with his high average time on ice.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Grabs two assists in Tuesday's win

Doughty notched two assists in Tuesday's 4-1 win against the Jets. The Kings top defenseman has been quiet on offense to start the season, so this multi-point performance was a welcome change. Doughty got a garbage time assist on an empty-netter, but also assisted on Jake Muzzin's game-tying goal in the second period. He skated a team-high 23:27 and had an unorthodox four giveaways. Doughty is yet to score a goal this season, but you shouldn't have to wait much longer with the way Los Angeles is playing lately.
