    • FA Adam Agrees To Terms With Rangers

News: Luke Adam agreed to terms with the Rangers on Friday.
Analysis: The 25-year-old spent most of last season in the AHL, appearing in 73 games for the Rochester Americans and registering 16 goals and 26 assists. He saw time in only three NHL games for Columbus, recording four penalty minutes. Luke Adam will likely again see time at both the AHL and NHL levels next season.
    • Jackets Don't Tender Adam

News: Luke Adam wasn't tendered a contract by the Blue Jackets on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent.
Analysis: Luke Adam appeared in only three games with the Blue Jackets last season, but that was likely only a byproduct of the team enduring substantial hits to its depth due to injury. The 25-year-old will try to land an AHL spot with whichever organization he joins this offseason.
    • Blue Jackets Reassign Adam

News: Luke Adam was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Saturday, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Luke Adam appeared in three games during his stint with the Blue Jackets, logging no points or shot attempts during that time. His demotion likely signals that Brandon Dubinsky (illness) will be available for Sunday's game against the Hurricanes.
    • Blue Jackets Recall Adam

News: Luke Adam was recalled from AHL Springfield on Monday.
Analysis: Luke Adam, who has posted 38 points (13 goals) in 58 AHL games between both the Sabres' and Blue Jackets' affiliates this season, has not appeared in an NHL game since last season. The team has already suffered a rash of injuries this season, but the move may signal that Alexander Wennberg will be unavailable for Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes after suffering an undisclosed injury.
    • Sabres Trade Adam To Blue Jackets

News: Luke Adam was acquired by the Blue Jackets on Tuesday in exchange for forward Jerry D'Amigo.
Analysis: In an exchange of low-end prospects, Luke Adam will join a Blue Jackets organization that could end up finding a spot for him in the bottom-six ranks at some point later this season. For now, he'll stay in the AHL and report to Springfield. Adam had eight goals and 20 points over 27 games with the Sabres' AHL affiliate in Rochester.
    • Sabres Place Adam On Waivers

News: Luke Adam was placed on waivers Saturday, a day after being assigned to Rochester, reports John Vogl of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Teams have until Monday to make a claim for Luke Adam since he was placed on waivers over the weekend. The raw power forward didn't have a good camp after being re-signed to a one-year deal over the summer. There is a chance he will be claimed by another team. The Sabres lost Corey Tropp on waivers to Columbus last year. However, a change of scenery might benefit Adam.
    • Sabres Send Adam To Rochester

News: Luke Adam was one of 11 players cut by the Sabres on Friday.
Analysis: Unless Luke Adam puts together an exceptional season, this could very well be his last season with Buffalo. The second-round pick from 2008 has size, strength and goal-scoring skill, but still hasn't been able to put it all together. His inconsistency is maddening. Adam signed a one-year extension over the summer and will be a restricted free agent at the end of the contract, but with the Sabres' deep pool of prospects they may not retain his rights. Adam has scored 44 goals in the AHL over the past two years but has just two goals in 16 games for the Sabres during that time.
    • Sabres' Adam On The Outside Looking In

News: Luke Adam is on the bubble and fighting for a roster spot based on the depth charts published by The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Luke Adam will play center on Johan Larsson's left wing and opposite of right winger Zac Dalpe. Dalpe was signed over the summer as additional depth while Larsson is also fighting for a roster spot. Adam returned to the Sabres after signing a one-year extension, but time is running out for the former second-round pick. In 12 games with the Sabres he recorded just one goal and 16 shots. When Adam is on his game, he can be a serviceable power forward, but his consistency has been poor. Adam will need to go through waivers if he is demoted, which provides an extra wrinkle to his situation. Last year, the Sabres waived Corey Tropp, and the same fate could await Adam if he has a poor showing at camp.
    • Adam Returns To Sabres

News: Luke Adam, who was given a qualifying offer by Buffalo in June, re-signed with the team Sunday on a one-year contract.
Analysis: A second-round pick in a pretty loaded 2008 draft class, Luke Adam has been one of the Sabres' most perplexing prospects. The 24-year-old can be a feared power forward when he is performing well, but those times can be quite rare. Adam had a good season for the Amerks but did little in 12 games with the Sabres (one goal, 16 shots). The Sabres are going to give Adam another year to prove himself, and on a team loaded with prospects, a poor performance could mean a change of scenery.
    • Sabres Retain Adam's Rights

News: Luke Adam was given a qualifying offer Monday, making him a Sabre for the forseeable future, reports John Vogl of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Luke Adam has been a constant tease for Sabres fans as a burgeoning power forward who just can't seem to bring his A-game every night. Adam matched a career-best 29 goals in the AHL this season and earned a 12-game audition with the Sabres, scoring a goal and four penalty minutes. A second-round pick from 2008, the Sabres have been quite patient with Adam, though his next extension may be his last with the Sabres. He'll get plenty of chances to make the big club next year as the team continues to re-build and give quality ice time to their developing players.
