The Stars announced Wednesday that goaltender Tyler Beskorowany signed a three-year entry-level contract. Beskorowany was Dallas' second-round selection (No. 59 overall) in the 2008 NHL draft. "Tyler is a very promising player for the future of our organization," Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk said. "He has worked hard and we expect that to continue as he plays in our development system."
Beskorowany has spent the last two seasons with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).The 6-4, 203-pound netminder made 37 appearances with Owen Sound last season, posting an 11-12-10 record. Beskorowany established career-bests in GAA (3.64) and save percentage (.902), while also making his postseason debut with the Attack. Beskorowany has a long ways to go to becoming a NHL goalie, so he is nothing more than a long-term Fantasy keeper.
