    • Isles' DiBenedetto To Play In Austria

News: Justin DiBenedetto will play in Austria next season, according to Newsday.
Analysis: No big loss here as the Isles are loaded with 3rd and 4th line players. They will extend a qualifying offer to Justin DiBenedetto in order to keep his North American rights.
    • DiBenedetto Sent Down By Isles

News: DiBenedetto has been returned to AHL Bridgeport, Newsday's Katie Strang reports.
Analysis: DiBenedetto recorded just six shots and one assist in his eight games with the big club, so this nugget shouldn't affect too many fantasy owners.
    • Isles' DiBenedetto Picks Up First NHL Point

News: DiBenedetto picked up his first NHL point, an assist, in Tuesday's win over Toronto.
Analysis: It took DiBenedetto five games to record his first point. He's getting very little ice time (6:33 on Tuesday) and isn't a fantasy option.
    • Isles Recall DiBenedetto

News: The Islanders recalled DiBenedetto from AHL Bridgeport on Monday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: DiBenedetto has been much better in his second year in the AHL, recording 15 goals and eight assists in 40 games. He's been playing especially well lately and should be available for Tuesday's game against the Capitals.
    • Isles assign six to minors

News: The Islanders assigned LW Sean Bentivoglio, LW Justin DiBenedetto, C Tyler Haskins, LW Jesse Joensuu, G Nathan Lawson, and RW Tony Romano to Bridgeport of the AHL before the game.
Analysis: Joensuu and DiBenedetto about the only prospects worth owning in long-term Fantasy keeper leagues. The remaining cuts are just organizational depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.
    • DiBenedetto embarks on pro career

News: The Sports Xchange reports D Mark Katic, the Islanders' third-round pick in the 2007 entry draft, and C Justin DiBenedetto, their 2008 sixth-rounder, were signed Thursday to three-year entry-level contracts and will join AHL Bridgeport for the remainder of the season and the playoffs.
Analysis: DiBenedetto had a monster year with Sarnia of the OHL (juniors) with a career-high 45 goals and 93 points -- which he also had in 2007-08. DiBenedetto is certainly a developing prospect, but really shouldn't be on Fantasy long-term keeper radars at this time since he wasn't a high-end prospect.
