• Jets' Hutchinson Victorious In Season Finale

News: Michael Hutchinson stopped 24 of 25 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Flames.
Analysis: Making his first appearance since March 24, Michael Hutchinson played solidly in this one, albeit against a Flames team that was resting several regulars -- including their top three scorers. Ondrej Pavelec is the clear-cut starter heading into Winnipeg's Round 1 matchup with the Ducks, but if he should falter, Hutch is a capable fill-in, as he put up a respectable 2.39 GAA and .914 save percentage in 38 appearances this season.
  • Jets' Hutchinson To Start Regular-Season Finale

News: Michael Hutchinson will get the start in Saturday's regular-season finale against the Flames, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: With the Jets having little left to play for, Connor Hellebuyck will serve as Michael Hutchinson's backup, while Ondrej Pavelec will merely rest up for the playoffs. Though he's mostly had a surprisingly strong campaign, Hutchinson lost each of his last three starts, giving up 10 goals on just 54 shots over that stretch.
  • Jets' Hutchinson Takes Loss To Canucks

News: Michael Hutchinson gave up three goals on 28 shots during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Vancouver.
Analysis: At least his line wasn't as bad as the final score, as the Canucks potted a pair of empty-netters. But it's also a weak outing for a guy who desperately needed to turn in a better effort with the way Ondrej Pavelec's been outplaying him. Michael Hutchinson has been tagged for 10 goals on just 54 shots over his last three games.
  • Jets' Hutchinson Gets Call Tuesday

News: Michael Hutchinson will be in the crease for Tuesday's game against the Canucks, Tim Campbell of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson has been a spectator of late with Ondrej Pavelec effectively reclaiming the Jets' No. 1 goalie gig, as the latter has rattled off five consecutive wins while surrendering a grand total of five goals in those contests. The second half of a back-to-back set will open the door for Hutchinson to get back in the net, but even with a stellar performance Tuesday, coach Paul Maurice probably isn't inclined to go back to a timeshare between the two goalies. Until Pavelec begins to scuffle again, the starting job will be almost exclusively his.
  • Jets' Hutchinson Struggles Again In Loss

News: Michael Hutchinson gave up three goals on 19 shots Thursday in a 4-2 loss to Florida.
Analysis: The inconsistent play continues from Michael Hutchinson, who's now given up seven goals on just 26 shots in the last two games. Fortunately for him, putting Ondrej Pavelec out there doesn't help the Jets much -- nor would it be much help to fantasy owners. But we'd still like to see Hutch return to something resembling the level that made him one of the fantasy game's most sought-after commodities on the wire.
  • Jets Stick With Hutchinson

News: Michael Hutchinson is slated to start Thursday's game against the Panthers, Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson, who will thus make his eighth consecutive start for Jets, will look to bounce back from Tuesday's tough outing against the Blues, in which he was was pulled in the second period after giving up four goals on just seven shots.
  • Disaster Start For Jets' Hutchinson

News: Michael Hutchinson was pulled a little more than midway through the second period Tuesday against St. Louis after giving up four goals on only seven shots.
Analysis: An absolutely brutal outing for Michael Hutchinson, and one made all the worse by Ondrej Pavelec's solid relief work. After putting up some of the finest goaltending numbers in the league prior to the All-Star break, Hutchinson has struggled mightily in post-break action. He's now delivered sub-.900 save marks in a whopping eight of his 14 appearances since the break. The only saving grace for Hutchinson right now is that Pavelec has been similarly inconsistent.
  • Jets Stick With Hutchinson on Tuesday

News: Michael Hutchinson is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Blues, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson, who will be making his seventh consecutive start for Jets, is coming off a strong effort in Saturday's win over Nashville, in which he made 20 saves on 21 shots. He'll square off against the Blues' Brian Elliott on Tuesday.
  • Jets' Hutchinson Takes Down Predators

News: Michael Hutchinson made 20 saves on 21 shots in Saturday's win over Nashville.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson now advances to 20-8-5 on the season with a .918 save percentage and 2.30 GAA. Considering he's allowed two goals or less in four of his last five starts and has suffered just one regulation loss in his last 10 appearances, the Jets are likely to keep riding him down the stretch. Use him well.
  • Jets' Hutchinson To Make Sixth Straight Start

News: Michael Hutchinson will make his sixth consecutive start Saturday against the Predators, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: At long last, coach Paul Maurice appears to have settled on Michael Hutchinson as his No. 1 goalie, despite the fact that the rookie's ratios have been trending in the wrong direction for more than a month. He's just 5-4-3 with a 3.08 GAA and .886 save percentage over his 12 outings since the All-Star break, numbers that probably make him best suited as a matchups-based play. Though the Predators are in a bit of a funk with losses in five straight games, it will still be difficult to count on Hutchinson to come out on top in this one.
