    • Oilers Loan Joensuu To Swiss Club

News: The Oilers loaned Jesse Joensuu to SC Bern of Switzerland's National League A on Friday, Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun reports.
Analysis: Jesse Joensuu cleared waivers earlier this month, but never ended up reporting to the Oilers' AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City. Since a return to the parent club's lineup wasn't forthcoming, he elected to jump at the opportunity to move back to Europe. The Oilers will retain his rights should he decide to return to North America at some point.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Clears Waivers

News: Jesse Joensuu has cleared waivers and will report to Oklahoma City of the AHL, according to the Oilers web site.
Analysis: Jesse Joensuu has limited offensive upside and is really nothing more than a fourth line player. He could be back up with Edmonton at some point this season but is unlikely to ever stick in one place for to long.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Placed On Waivers

News: Oilers have placed Jesse Joensuu on waivers according to the Oilers web site.
Analysis: If Jesse Joensuu clears waivers he will be sent down to Oklahoma City of the AHL where he will provide the team with some depth at wing.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Nabs Goal

News: Jesse Joensuu registered a shorthanded goal in Saturday's loss to the Canucks.
Analysis: An unexpected breakaway allowed the Oilers to cash in with their penalty kill, as Joenssu put the puck past goalie Ryan Miller for his first tally of the season. It will likely amount to one of the few points of the campaign for Jesse Joensuu, who sees only limited minutes while scrapping on the Oilers' fourth line.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Has High Ankle Sprain

News: Jesse Joensuu is looking at a minimum four-week recovery from a high ankle sprain.
Analysis: Jesse Joensuu, who has five points and a minus-16 rating in 42 games to date, is thus effectively done for the season, with the Oilers closing out their 2013-14 schedule on April 12.
    • Oilers' Joensuu In Walking Boot

News: Jesse Joensuu (ankle) was spotted in a walking boot Monday, according to the Edmonton Sun.
Analysis: A walking boot seems to be standard operating procedure for any kind of lower leg injury so it may not indicate a long term injury but it still seems likely that Jesse Joensuu could miss at least the next game or two.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Out Sunday

News: Jesse Joensuu (ankle) will not play Sunday against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Jesse Joensuu hurt the ankle Friday night and while there is not a set timetable for his return, he'll miss at least one game with the injury. It will likely mean slightly more playing time for Ryan Jones against Carolina.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Suffers Ankle Injury

News: Jesse Joensuu left Friday's game with an ankle injury and will not return.
Analysis: With just five points through 42 games, the fourth-liner hasn't had much of a fantasy impact this season. Jesse Joensuu continues to log about 10 minutes per game, and he still hasn't shown any signs of becoming a top-six forward.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Struggling To Find Ice

News: Jesse Joensuu has appeared in just 10 games since the New Year.
Analysis: On the nights he's been in the lineup, Jesse Joensuu has been seeing about 10 minutes of ice time per game, limiting his ability to put up numbers. The fourth-liner has accrued just four points and 14 penalty minutes in 35 games to go along with a minus-16 rating.
    • Oilers' Joensuu Over The Flu

News: Jesse Joensuu (illness) was back on the ice for Monday's practice, Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal reports.
Analysis: Jesse Joensuu last played Jan. 3, but his recent absences probably had more to do with him being a healthy scratch than being weakened by illness. He's now put the flu behind him but is not guaranteed to be back in the lineup Tuesday vs. the Stars.
