  • Oilers' Jones Suffers Torn Knee

News: Ryan Jones has been ruled out for the season with a Grade 2 tear in his PCL.
Analysis: While few fantasy owners were counting on production from Ryan Jones, it's still an unfortunate injury for any player, and one that could keep the forward limited throughout the offseason. He finishes the 2013-14 campaign with six points, 40 PIM and 74 hits over 52 games.
  • Oilers' Jones Returns To Practice

News: Ryan Jones (knee) returned to practice Thursday, according to the Oilers' official site.
Analysis: Ryan Jones took a puck to the knee during the game Tuesday and missed practice Wednesday. He is, however, expected to be ready to play Friday.
  • OIlers' Jones Suffers Knee Injury Tuesday

News: Ryan Jones left Tuesday's game with a left knee injury and did not return, Joanne Ireland of the Edmonton Journal reports.
Analysis: Ryan Jones took a puck to his knee early in the first period, hobbling off to the dressing room shortly thereafter. The Oilers will evaluate him prior to Friday's game against the Ducks to see how he's feeling. Jones would likely be replaced by Steven MacIntyre on the fourth line if it's determined he can't go Friday.
  • Points Hard To Come By For Oilers' Jones

News: Ryan Jones provided just two points over his last 24 games heading into the Olympic break.
Analysis: A concussion suffered during that stretch of games kept Ryan Jones out of commission for about two weeks, but he hasn't really gotten on track despite being healthy for over a month now. His lack of productivity can mostly be explained by his role as a fourth-liner, with his limited impact in the hits or blocks categories failing to offset that deficiency.
  • Jones Returns To Oilers Lineup

News: Ryan Jones returned to the Oilers lineup Friday and was a plus-1 during the game.
Analysis: Ryan Jones was knocked unconscious during an accident in practice a little over a week ago. He doesn't have much offensive upside and won't play on one of the top two lines in Edmonton so he is little more than a depth forward at this point.
  • Oilers' Jones Placed On IR

News: Ryan Jones (head) has been placed on injured reserve, 630 CHED's Bob Stauffer reports.
Analysis: Ryan Jones was unconscious for nearly 10 minutes as a result of an unfortunate accident during Saturday's practice. It comes as no surprise that he's landed on IR, and the 29-year-old winger may end up missing a significant chunk of time.
  • Oilers' Jones: Out Cold For Almost 10 Minutes

News: Updating an earlier report, Ryan Jones (undisclosed) was unconscious for almost 10 minutes after running into teammate Andrew Ferrence at practice on Saturday morning, according to a report on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada.
Analysis: It was described as a "scary sight" following what can only be categorized as incidental contact. We can't help but think he'll be out for a while as a result. Start planning for alternative options if he's a regular in your lineup.
  • Oilers' Jones Possibly Sustains Concussion

News: Ryan Jones might have sustained a concussion during Saturday's morning skate, Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun reports.
Analysis: Ryan Jones was reportedly "knocked out cold" after colliding with defenseman Andrew Ference during a drill. Although the Oilers haven't confirmed that Jones suffered a concussion as a result of the accident, it appears likely that he won't suit up for Saturday's game against the Blues.
  • Oilers' Jones Injured At Practice On Saturday

News: Ryan Jones was helped off the ice and left practice early Saturday with an undisclosed injury TSN's Ryan Rishaug reports.
Analysis: There is no word as to the nature of the injury or even how it happened. Rushaug reports that Ryan Jones appeared to be dazed while being helped off the ice. The team will likely update his status soon.
  • Oilers' Jones Injured In Practice

News: Ryan Jones took a puck off the foot in practice Monday and had to be helped off the ice, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Analysis: There's no word yet on the severity of the injury, but Ryan Jones contributes in almost no fantasy categories, so few fantasy owners will miss him if he's out for an extended period of time.
