Blues' Ryan Reaves: Will return to lineup

Reaves will draw back into the lineup in the wake of news that Martin Havlat was waived Friday. Reaves is a highly physical fourth-line winger who has 529 PIM over 287 career games played. He probably won't get much ice time in the bottom-six group but still could have low-end value if your league counts time spent in the Sin Bin.

    • Blues' Reaves Nets Rare Goal In Win

News: Ryan Reaves tallied a goal in Wednesday's Game 4 victory over the Wild.
Analysis: Including the regular season, it goes down as Ryan Reaves' seventh goal, an output that isn't far off his production in that category from the previous four seasons combined (11). The Blues are happy to take any offense they can get from Reaves, who earns his paycheck as a hitter and enforcer on the team's fourth line.
    • Blues' Reaves Scores, Collects 12 PIM In Loss

News: Ryan Reaves scored his sixth goal of the season and picked up 12 PIM in Sunday's loss to Vancouver.
Analysis: Ryan Reaves now has 10 points and a whopping 100 PIM in 62 games this season. While the 28-year-old old doesn't produce much offense in a fourth-line role, his strong PIM totals make him worth owning in very deep specialty leagues.
    • Blues' Reaves Picks Up Assist; Sets Career High

News: Ryan Reaves picked up an assist Thursday in a 2-1 shootout win over Winnipeg. He was plus-1 and added four hits on the night.
Analysis: Ryan Reaves set a new career high in points with nine. Reaves' penalty minutes are down this year, while his shots, hits, and blocks are all up - maybe he is evolving into a different kind of player who can add more fantasy value.
    • Blues' Reaves Scores In Win

News: Ryan Reaves scored his fifth goal of the season Friday in a shootout win over Carolina. He was plus-1, took five shots, and laid six hits in the contest.
Analysis: The goal sets a new career high for the rugged winger, and his next point will set a career mark in that category too. Ryan Reaves will obviously never be an offensive force, but in leagues where you took him for his toughness, the boost in production is gravy.
    • PIM Piling Up For Blues' Reaves

News: Ryan Reaves dished out two hits and logged 14 PIM in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.
Analysis: All of Ryan Reaves' three penalties came in the final minute of the game when the outcome was already well-decided, but it counts all the same for fantasy owners. As expected, Reaves has been a buoy in the PIM category this season, and especially so of late. He's spent time in the box in four consecutive games.
    • Blues' Reaves Wastes No Time In Mixing It Up

News: Ryan Reaves (ankle) registered four hits and received a 10-minute misconduct penalty in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Predators.
Analysis: In other words, it was business as usual for Ryan Reaves in his return from a one-game absence. He'll continue to pile up the hits and penalty minutes with consistency, but don't expect him to finish the season with more than 10 points.
    • Blues' Reaves Back In Thursday

News: Coach Ken Hitchcock confirmed Ryan Reaves (ankle) would play Thursday against the Predators, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It was believed the Blues were going to wait until pregame warmups before making a decision on Ryan Reaves' availability, but the fourth-liner fared well enough in the morning skate for the coach to feel comfortable declaring him good to go. Reaves missed just one game due to the ankle issue.
    • Blues' Reaves Hopes To Play Thursday

News: Ryan Reaves (ankle) hopes to play Thursday against the Predators, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Ryan Reaves made it through Thursday's morning skate without issue, and a decision on his status for Thursday's game will be made based on how he feels when game time rolls around.
    • Blues' Reaves (Ankle) Day-To-Day

News: Ryan Reaves (ankle) remains day-to-day, the St. Louis Post Dispatch's Jeremy Rutherford reports.
Analysis: Consider him questionable for Thursday's game against the Predators.
