Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Chased from net after three goals on eight shots

Reimer was chased from the net Saturday after allowing three goals on eight shots against the Senators. He was pulled just 7:38 into the first period. Reimer had been strong lately, but this performance carried a strong, foul odour to it. We fully expect him to rebound quickly -- he's a pretty resilient guy. You have to be to play in Toronto these days.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Receives starting nod Saturday

Reimer will get the start in goal Saturday against the Senators, Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports. Reimer has played well of late, posting a 2-0-0 record with a 2.36 GAA and .934 save percentage in his last two appearances. He'll look to secure a third consecutive win Saturday in a relatively favorable matchup with a slumping Ottawa club that has lost five of its last six games.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Denies 32 in shootout win

Reimer stopped 32 of 34 shots Thursday en route to a 3-2 shootout win over the Devils. Reimer's opened the NHL's unofficial second half with consecutive strong performances in victories after putting up his worst outing of the season in his final start prior to the All-Star break. The Leafs have struggled this year, but with the sparkling numbers Reimer's put up and the stranglehold he's got on the starting role, he makes for an appealing start Saturday against the struggling Senators.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Protecting the crease on Thursday

Reimer gets the starting nod against the Devils on Thursday, James Mirtle of the Lobe and Mail reports. Reimer has been abysmal lately, as he's recorded just two wins in his last eight contests while posting a 2.48 GAA. The netminder continues to see the bulk of the starting ice time despite his inability to help the Maple Leafs put up victories. Fortunately for the 27-year-old, backup goalie Jonathan Bernier has not fared much better and Reimer is unlikely to lose the starting job any time soon.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Overcomes missteps in OT win

Reimer stopped 39 of 42 shots Tuesday in Boston to come away with 4-3 overtime victory. A pair of goals within 26 seconds of one another early in the third period had the Leafs down 3-1 and Reimer looking like the goat after he overcommitted both times, leaving the net mouth wide open behind him. But Toronto's offense stormed back with a pair of goals in the middle of the period while Reimer beat back a determined Boston onslaught. Despite playing for the basement-dwelling Leafs and thus suffering a lot of losses (14 of them in 25 games), Reimer owns spectacular rate stats and has clearly been the team's best goalie. That should earn him plenty more starts in the second half -- well, as long as he can stay healthy.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Starting against Bruins on Tuesday

Reimer will be between the pipes Tuesday against Boston, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Reimer had a rough outing in his last start, giving up five goals on 27 shots faced in a loss at Florida. The 27-year-old netminder has compiled an 8-8-6 record on the year with a .932 save percentage and 2.10 GAA. He draws a Bruins team on the road Tuesday that has potted an average of 2.94 goals per game, third best in the league. Reimer has lost to Boston twice already this season, despite saving 35 of 36 shots in one of the contests.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Surrenders five in loss

James Remier stopped 22 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to Florida. It was yet another tough outing for Reimer, who was handed his third straight loss. Losing is something that he has become accustomed to -- the 27-year-old has only escaped with one win in last three games. Despite the poor record, Reimer's season hasn't been a complete horror story; he has the second-best save percentage in the league (.932) and has allowed two or fewer goals in seven of his last ten starts.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Defending crease against Panthers

Reimer will be between the pipes Tuesday against Florida, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports. Reimer has logged some decent numbers of late, despite losing five of his last six starts. The 27-year-old posted a 1.99 GAA over that span with a .938 save percentage. That is the type of performance the netminder would hope his offense would capitalize on, but the wins have failed to materialize.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Among league's best in save percentage

Reimer made 27 saves in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Canadiens. He was saved by the snow a couple of times -- the snow that lies on the ice and slows down the puck. Reimer had at least two pucks, including one in the shootout, that failed to cross the goal line because the snow on the ice stopped the puck prematurely. Optimus Reims has won just once in his last nine starts, but he still sits at the top of the NHL in save percentage. Yes, you read that right.

Maple Leafs' James Reimer: Starting against Habs on Saturday

Reimer will field shots from the visiting Canadiens on Saturday evening, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports. Reimer is coming off a start this past Thursday in which he set aside 40 of 41 shots but still lost in overtime. Unfortunately, the Buds have provided Optimus Reims with just six goals of support in the past five games. If you have Reimer on the fantasy roster, you're probably loving his tidy 1.98 GAA and .937 save percentage but he'll need more help from the skaters in order to advance his record of 8-7-5 in positive fashion.
