    • Strachan Signs Two-Way Deal With Wild

News: Tyson Strachan signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Wild on Thursday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan was able to stick in the NHL with the Sabres all of last season, but he'll face a much more difficult ascent up the depth chart on a deep Minnesota squad. The 30-year-old didn't help his cause by registering only five points in the 46 games he played with the Sabres in 2014-15, production that doesn't hint at much upside if he's able to earn ice time with the Wild.
    • Sabres' Strachan Healthy, But Will Be Scratched

News: Tyson Strachan (illness) will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Lightning.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan first suffered an infection Feb. 22, but it appears he's been healthy for the last couple of days. However, with the Sabres receiving sound play from Andrej Meszaros of late, coach Ted Nolan will stick with the same defensive lineup he used Saturday against the Panthers.
    • Sabres' Strachan Practicing Monday

News: Tyson Strachan (illness) participated in Monday's practice.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan has missed the last four games with an infection, but his presence on the ice at practice suggests he might be a lineup option for Tuesday's game against the Lightning. Expect coach Ted Nolan to clarify Strachan's status after the Sabres conduct their morning skate Tuesday.
    • Sabres' Strachan Likely To Sit Saturday

News: Tyson Strachan (infection) was at practice Friday but is "likely" to sit out Saturday, reports the Olean Times Herald.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan has missed his previous three games and will likely miss his fourth Saturday against Florida. Mark Pysyk was demoted to AHL Rochester earlier, which suggested Strachan will return to the lineup, but it seems as though Nikita Zadorov is the one who will draw in. Strachan is considered day-to-day and should be available after the weekend. The veteran defenseman has very limited fantasy value.
    • No Strachan For Sabres In Columbus

News: Tyson Strachan missed Sunday's game with an illness and didn't travel with the team to Columbus, reports John Vogl of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: There is no timetable for Tyson Strachan's return, which means recent call-ups Mark Pysyk and Jake McCabe will likely play again. Strachan has served in a depth role for much of the season, appearing in 31 games and recording five assists with a minus-16 rating. The Sabres return home to face Vancouver on Thursday, so it's likely Strachan's status will be updated then.
    • Sabres' Strachan Out Sunday

News: Tyson Strachan got an infection overnight and will miss Sunday's game against the Predators.
Analysis: The type of infection Tyson Strachan has is unclear at this point, but it will force him to miss at least Sunday's contest. The blueliner has just five points and a minus-16 rating through 31 games this year, and should be considered day-to-day until further information is revealed on the situation. Strachan's next chance to return will come Tuesday against the Blue Jackets.
    • Sabres Bench Strachan Against Ottawa

News: Tyson Strachan will sit out Tuesday's game against Ottawa, reports Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan has five assists in 30 games, and despite providing a rather strong defensive presence over his last four games, including 15 blocked shots, he'll sit in the press box in favor of Andrej Meszaros. Head coach Ted Nolan likely wants to light a fire under Meszaros's pants by playing him against his former team. No matter who's in the lineup, the Sabres have had trouble keeping the puck out of the net all season. Swapping Strachan for Meszaros likely won't make much of a difference against Ottawa.
    • Sabres' Strachan Removed From IR

News: Tyson Strachan (upper body) is no longer in injured reserve, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan is now healthy enough to play, but coach Ted Nolan held the defenseman out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Senators. Strachan likely has some more healthy scratches in his immediate furture.
    • Sabres' Strachan Close To Return

News: Tyson Strachan (lower body) said after Saturday's practice that he is "pretty close" to a return to the Buffalo lineup, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan was able to take part in the Sabres' gameday skate, but coach Ted Nolan didn't feel comfortable reinserting him into the lineup for the match later in the evening against the Islanders. Fortunately, the Sabres will welcome Mike Weber (knee) back into the lineup, which won't force the team to recall an extra defenseman while Strachan and Tyler Myers (lower body) remain out for another contest.
    • Sabres Place Strachen (Lower Body) On IR

News: Tyson Strachan (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Mike Harrington of Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Tyson Strachan returned from a lower body injury for two games before apparently aggravating the issue. However, his placement on the IR is retroactive to Dec. 16, meaning he could be available for the Sabres' game Tuesday against the Red Wings.
