    • Oilers Recall MacIntyre On Emergency Basis

News: Steve MacIntyre was recalled on an emergency basis Wednesday.
Analysis: Jordan Eberle totaled three points in Tuesday's win over the Predators, but came away with a suspected knee injury, prompting the call-up of Steve MacIntyre. The 33-year-old probably won't see much more than a fourth-line role if he plays Thursday against the Sabres.
    • Oilers' MacIntyre Clears Waivers

News: Steve MacIntyre cleared waivers Friday, Ren Lavoie of the Montreal Journal reports.
Analysis: As expected, Steve MacIntyre received nary a nibble when available for pickup on the open market. He'll likely return to AHL Oklahoma City and could be a call-up option for the Oilers later in the season.
    • Oilers Waive MacIntyre

News: Steve MacIntyre was waived by the Oilers on Thursday, reports.
Analysis: With Steve MacIntyre presumably over the knee injury that sidelined him in the preseason, the Oilers were forced to activate him from IR, but didn't want to open up a spot on the active roster for him. He'll likely go unclaimed and report to AHL Oklahoma City in the coming days.
    • Oilers' MacIntyre Leaves With Knee Injury

News: MacIntrye left Friday's preseason contest with a knee injury.
Analysis: The injury looked to be fairly serious for Steve MacIntyre, who the Oilers claimed off waivers earlier in the week. He was unable to put any weight on his foot when he left the ice. The Oilers should have an update on his status in the coming days, but his availability for the start of the regular season appears to be in jeopardy.
    • Oilers Claim MacIntyre Off Waivers

News: The Oilers claimed Steve MacIntyre off waivers from the Penguins on Monday, Kevin Allen of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Steve MacIntyre doesn't do much offensively, but he has 175 PIM in 91 career NHL games, so he could provide some muscle up front for the Oilers.
    • Pens' MacIntyre Back On Bench

News: One game after drawing 12 minutes worth of penalties, Steve MacIntyre served as a healthy scratch Tuesday.
Analysis: It's unlikely he sniffs the lineup again, unless coach Dan Bylsma decides to rest a large portion of the team Thursday or Saturday.
    • MacIntyre In Monday For Pens

News: Steve MacIntyre will be in the lineup Monday night for the Penguins.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in need of penalty minutes would be well served by picking up Steve MacIntyre for the game.
    • MacIntyre Muscle For Pens On Monday?

News: Steve MacIntyre could make his season debut Monday in Ottawa, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: The enforcer would be an excellent option for goon points. Ottawa is unhappy with Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke for the injury he caused to the Sens' Erik Karlsson and may be looking for revenge. "I don't think my role really changes, wherever I go," Steve MacIntyre said. "They brought me up to be a good soldier. I think the writing's on the wall. I'm not 100 percent sure what will happen. I do my thing. If they need me, they need me. If they don't, just do the best that I can."
    • Penguins' MacIntyre Recalled Thursday

News: Steve MacIntyre was recalled from the AHL on Thursday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The 6-5, 250-pound Steve MacIntyre has 70 PIMs in 29 games this season in the AHL. MacIntyre does not provide much of an offensive presence, but his physical presence could be an asset to the Penguins on the third or fourth line.
    • Pens Re-Up MacIntyre

News: Steve MacIntyre has re-signed with the Penguins for two years, reports the Penguins' official site.
Analysis: It's a two-way deal worth $625,000 at the NHL level, and it runs through the 2013-14 season. He's a big (6-5, 250) presence on the blue line, but he struggles with foot speed. He'll be hard-pressed to earn a role with the big club this coming season.
