  • Rangers Waive Desjardins

News: The Rangers waived Cedrick Desjardins on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Cedrick Desjardins appeared in just one game with the Lightning last season where he gave up two goals in 18 minutes played. He played 35 games with AHL Syracuse last season where he compiled a 9-18-4 record. He had a very low chance of making the Rangers final roster with Henrik Lundqvist being the clear-cut starter and backup Cam Talbot solidifying his job during the preseason. Expect Desjardins to have a very low fantasy impact this season, if he has any at all.
  • Rangers' Desjardins Perfect

News: Cedrick Desjardins stopped all 15 shots he faced in Friday's preseason win over Chicago.
Analysis: Cedrick Desjardins is not to be completely dismissed as he was signed this summer in case of injury. Barring any injury, Cam Talbot is a lock for the team's backup job come opening night and the soon-to-be 29-year-old and former blue-chipper Desjardins is very likely to start the season with AHL Hartford.
  • Rangers Add Desjardins As Goalie Depth

News: Cedrick Desjardins signed with the Rangers on Tuesday.
Analysis: Cedrick Desjardins will function as the Rangers' third-string goaltender, with most of his duties likely coming at AHL Hartford. He posted a 9-18-0 record, 2.81 GAA and .900 save percentage with the Bolts' AHL affiliate in Syracuse last season.
  • Bolts' Desjardins Appears In Relief

News: Cedrick Desjardins entered Thursday's game to start the third period after starter Ben Bishop was unable to return to the game after suffering an upper-body injury. He stopped 11 of 13 shots.
Analysis: There's no word on the severity or specific nature of Bishop's injury, so we won't know who'll roll between the pipes this weekend. Cedrick Desjardins has the ability to win a game here and there, but he can't be counted on over longer periods of time. At least not yet.
  • Lightning Recall Desjardins From AHL Syracuse

News: Cedrick Desjardins was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Friday.
Analysis: With Ben Bishop suffering a head injury Thursday and Anders Lindback already injured, the Lightning needed to bring in some goaltending help. Through 20 games for Syracuse this season, Cedrick Desjardins has a record of 5-10-2 to go along with a 2.78 goals-against average and .902 save percentage.
  • Bolts' Demote Desjardins

News: Cedrick Desjardins was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Monday, Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Cedrick Desjardins was with the Lighting the last five games to back up Anders Lindback while Ben Bishop was on injured reserve, but he'll head back to the minors with Bishop apparently ready to go. The 28-year-old didn't appear in any games while with the Lightning this time around, with the biggest drama surrounding him being the repeated delays of his goalie pads in arriving from Syracuse.
  • Lightning Recall Desjardins

News: Cedrick Desjardins was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Monday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Cedrick Desjardins was called up as a precaution in case the results of the MRI on starter Ben Bishop (lower body) do not come back favorable. Anders Lindback would likely be first in line for starts if this is the case, but Desjardins, who was called up mostly for depth, could eventually receive an opportunity.
  • Lightning Officially Recall Desjardins

News: Cedrick Desjardins was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Friday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: With Ben Bishop (lower body) still ailing, the Lightning elected to keep Cedrick Desjardins as a backup to Anders Lindback over Kristers Gudlevskis. Desjardins has the greater NHL experience of the two, which likely factored heavily into the club's decision.
  • Bolts May Recall Desjardins

News: The Lightning may recall Cedrick Desjardins from AHL Syracuse on Saturday, the Tampa Bay Times' Damian Cristodero reports.
Analysis: If Ben Bishop (lower body) is unable to play Saturday against Pittsburgh, the Bolts will likely bring up Cedrick Desjardins to serve as the backup to Anders Lindback.
  • Bolts Assign Desjardins To AHL

News: Cedrick Desjardins was assigned to Syracuse of the AHL.
Analysis: He and Riku Helenius will split the twinetending duties as they both continue their development.
