  • Blues Sign Bickel To PTO

News: Stu Bickel signed a professional tryout contract with the Blues on Wednesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Stu Bickel skated in nine games for the Wild last season, seeing time at both forward and on defense and finishing with one point and 46 PIM. Aside from his ruffian play, Bickel doesn't bring any skills to the table that really translate into fantasy utility, so he's not a name to monitor heading into training camp. In fact, it's likely he'll be released by the Blues when camp concludes and spent most of his 2015-16 campaign at AHL Chicago.
  • Wild Recall Bickel From AHL Iowa

News: Stu Bickel was recalled from AHL Iowa on Wednesday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: With Iowa's season coming to a conclusion over the past weekend, Stu Bickel was one of 11 players recalled by the Wild ahead of Wednesday's Game 4. Bickel previously appeared in nine games for the Wild during the regular season, but likely won't be anything more than a practice player for the team during its playoff run.
  • Wild's Bickel Demoted To AHL

News: Stu Bickel was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Friday.
Analysis: Though there's an opening in Friday's lineup for a defenseman with Jared Spurgeon (face) ruled out, coach Mike Yeo decided Christian Folin, who was recalled from AHL Iowa, was better equipped than Stu Bickel to fill the void. The 28-year-old Bickel, who has one point in nine games with the Wild, seems to be regarded as just an organizational depth player at this stage of his career.
  • Wild Recall Bickel

News: The Wild have recalled Stu Bickel from AHL Iowa, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Stu Bickel, who has played in nine games for the Wild this season, recording one assist and 46 penalty minutes, will give the team some added depth and flexibility (he can play either forward or defense), with forwards Jason Zucker and Ryan Carter having landed on IR.
  • Wild Reassign Bickel

News: Stu Bickel was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Thursday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: He'll be replaced by Matt Dumba, who was recalled from Iowa in a corresponding move. Stu Bickel's stint with the parent club lasted just three days, with the blueliner serving as a healthy scratch in the Wild's lone game during that time.
  • Wild Recall Bickel

News: The Wild have recalled Stu Bickel, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Stu Bickel -- who has one assist and 46 PIM (including 39 on Jan. 3) in nine NHL games to date -- gives the Wild an extra blueliner to have on hand for the team's upcoming Western road trip.
  • Wild's Bickel Clears Waivers

News: Stu Bickel cleared waivers Friday and has been reassigned to AHL Iowa, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: It sounds like the Wild expect to have one of their ailing blueliners (Marco Scandella or Nate Prosser) back for Saturday's game against the Predators, eliminating the team's need to keep an extra defenseman around. Stu Bickel will be able to log more regular ice time with the move back to Iowa.
  • Wild Place Bickel On Waivers

News: Stu Bickel was placed on waivers Thursday.
Analysis: Stu Bickel, who tallied a whopping 39 PIM in his lone January appearance last Saturday, will be replaced on the roster by Jonathon Blum. He will likely head to AHL Iowa if he clears waivers.
  • Wild's Bickel Collects 39 PIM In Loss

News: Stu Bickel was credited with 39 PIM in Saturday's blowout loss to the Stars. All six of his penalties came in the third period.
Analysis: That PIM total marks the highest contribution from any NHL player in that category this season. However, with only one assist this season and no guaranteed regular spot in the Wild lineup, the 28-year-old isn't much use in fantasy outside of his PIM contributions.
  • Wild's Bickel Stuck On Bench

News: Stu Bickel was a healthy scratch in Friday's win over Toronto.
Analysis: He had played three games in a row, but may be stuck on the bench with Jonas Brodin back from an upper-body injury.
