Maple Leafs' Peter Holland: Gets goal, but not out of doghouse yet

Holland scored Tuesday in his return to action after missing the previous four games as a healthy scratch. He got into the lineup because of an injury to Daniel Winnik. The goal came on the power play and Holland pumped his fists, ostensibly in relief, after he tipped in the puck. Holland has been in coach Mike Babcock's doghouse so far this season and has been a healthy scratch five times so far. We can't recommend him until he's fully off the chain and we don't see that happening just yet.

Maple Leafs' Peter Holland: Temporary assignment on second line Wednesday

Holland will move up to the second line against Buffalo on Wednesday night, reports the Toronto Star. The role is temporary as the Leafs shuffle lines to deal with injuries. Tyler Bozak is out, so Holland scoots up to center Shawn Mattias and Brad Boyes. Holland has a goal and assist in five games so far and appears to be among coach Mike Babcock's favorites. His focus thus far, though, has been on defensive assignments including faceoffs (54.1 win percentage) and responsible play (plus-1). He'll need to take more than six shots in five games to become fantasy relevant.

    • Leafs' Holland Set To Return

News: Peter Holland (lower body) is slated to play Sunday against the Sens, David Alter of reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland, who last suited up back on March 13, returns to the Leafs' lineup with 11 goals and 23 points in 59 games, to go along with minus-1 rating.
    • Leafs' Holland Ruled Out For Saturday

News: Peter Holland (lower body) will not play Saturday against the Senators, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: With the Leafs kicking off a back-to-back set Saturday, it appears coach Peter Horachek simply didn't want to have Peter Holland play two consecutive games immediately upon returning from injury. Instead, Holland's return to action will likely come Sunday versus Ottawa, assuming the center suffers no setbacks in his recovery overnight.
    • Leafs' Holland Still Targeting Weekend

News: Peter Holland (lower body) is joining his teammates for a full practice Friday, and still hopes to return to games this weekend, TSN's Jonas Siegel reports.
Analysis: Toronto faces the Bruins on Saturday and the Senators on Sunday, providing Peter Holland with two opportunities to get back on the ice. Given that he's logging a full practice Friday, Holland seems to have a real shot at playing in both games.
    • Leafs' Holland Remains Sidelined

News: Peter Holland (lower body) could return as soon as this weekend, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports.
Analysis: That said, Peter Holland is effectively ruled out for the team's next two games, with a return either Saturday against the Bruins or Sunday against the Sens now considered plausible.
    • Leafs' Holland Skates On Own Wednesday

News: Peter Holland (lower body) skated on his own prior to Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Peter Holland has missed the Leafs' last five games while recovering from the lower-body injury. While his light skate Wednesday offers encouragement that he might be nearing a return, Holland seems unlikely to suit up for Thursday's tilt with the Panthers, given that he has yet to practice with the rest of the team.
    • Leafs' Holland (Lower Body) Out Monday

News: Peter Holland, who was expected to return Monday, (lower body) will sit a little while longer, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland will require a little extra rest than initially expected, and with the Maple Leafs no longer in playoff contention, it's not surprising he will take it. The team's next contest after Monday comes Thursday against the Panthers, which seems like a logical return date at this point.
    • Leafs' Holland Remains Sidelined

News: Peter Holland (lower body) is expected to miss the Leafs' next two games, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Analysis: Per the report, with Peter Holland still ailing and Nazem Kadri suspended, the Leafs are likely to recall forward Sam Carrick from AHL Toronto.
    • Leafs' Holland Out Monday

News: Peter Holland (lower body) won't play Monday against the Oilers, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland, who is slated to miss his second straight game, thus remains day-to-day in advance of Thursday's game against the Sharks.
