  • Rangers Re-Sign Missiaen To Two-Way Deal

News: Jason Missiaen re-signed with the Rangers on a one-year, two-way contract Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Jason Missiaen appeared in 20 games for AHL Hartford last season, posting a 14-5-0 record, 2.78 GAA and .919 save percentage. He'll more than likely reprise the same role in 2014-15, as Henrik Lundqvist and Cam Talbot are locked into the top two goalie spots with the parent club.
  • Missiaen Practices With Rangers Before Game 1

News: Jason Missiaen practiced with the team on Wednesday, reports Andrew Gross of The Record.
Analysis: The 24-year-old, who posted 21-9-2 overall record in 33 games played with Greenville of the ECHL, didn't fair as well (2-11-1, 3.83 GAA) with Hartford of the AHL this season. Jason Missiaen, who is notoriously known for his 6'8 stature, may displace David LeNeveu who practiced with the team earlier this week. With usual back-up Cam Talbot out, either could potentially ride the pine while Henrik Lundqvist starts in game one of the Stanley Cup Finals against Los Angeles on Wednesday.
  • Rangers' Missiaen Sent To AHL

News: Jason Missiaen was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Sunday.
Analysis: Henrik Lundqvist (undisclosed) has deemed himself ready to roll, so Jason Missiaen is no longer needed on the roster. Missiaen will head back to Hartford, where he has posted a 3.54 GAA in two games so far this season.
  • Rangers Recall Missiaen

News: Jason Missiaen was recalled from AHL Hartford on Wednesday, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Though Jason Missiaen ended up losing out on backup duties in favor of Cam Talbot last week, he'll be back with the Rangers with No. 1 goaltender Henrik Lundqvist dealing with an undisclosed injury. There's been nothing yet to suggest that Lundqvist will miss extensive time beyond Thursday's game, so Missiaen may not even see the ice during his time with the Rangers.
  • Rangers Send Missiaen Back To AHL Hartford

News: Jason Missiaen has been sent back down to AHL Hartford on Sunday, Newsday's Steve Zipay reports.
Analysis: Jason Missiaen hadn't seen any game action at the NHL level yet this season, but the team felt that Cam Talbot was a better option at this point. Missiaen will act as the Wolfpack's No. 1 goaltender now and get another long look at what he can do. He's played in just one AHL game this season, allowing three goals and making 23 saves in a winning effort.
  • Rangers Recall Missiaen

News: The Rangers recalled Jason Missiaen from AHL Hartford on Thursday.
Analysis: Jason Missiaen takes the roster spot of Cam Talbot, who was reassigned Thursday. The move may just be to keep Talbot sharp, as Hartford has a game Friday, while the Rangers don't play again until Saturday. The expectation is that Talbot will start Hartford's game Friday and then be recalled to dress for the Rangers on Saturday, which would put Missiaen back in the minors at that point.
