• Oilers' Horak Will Play In KHL Next Season

    News: Roman Horak has signed to play with Vityaz of the KHL next season, according to the Edmonton Journal.
    Analysis: Roman Horak was acquired from the Flames in the Ladislav Smid deal last season. He only played two games for the Oilers since coming over from Calgary and was more than likely ticketed for another season in the AHL had he remained with Edmonton.
  • Oilers' Send Horak To Oklahoma City

    News: Roman Horak was sent to Oklahoma City of the AHL on Sunday, according to the Oilers web site.
    Analysis: Roman Horak only played two games for Edmonton this season but did manage to score a goal. With the Oilers season over he will try and help Oklahoma City in their playoff run.

    Analysis: Roman Horak had 21 goals and 52 points in 63 games so far this season. The Oilers have some injury woes and Horak could fill in should they need a body in their final game of the season Sunday.

    Analysis: Roman Horak was sent down to make room for Nail Yakupov who was benched. He is not considered to be a top prospect but will probably see another call up at some point this season.

    Analysis: Acquired for defenseman Ladislav Smid in November in a trade with the Flames, Roman Horak could make his Oilers debut Friday against his old team, as Mark Arcobello and Ryan Jones are both nursing injuries. Horak has seven goals and 11 assists over 31 games at the AHL level this season.

    Analysis: Roman Horak had seven points in 13 games for AHL Abbotsford and will more than likely stay in the minors with the Oilers' affiliate in Oklahoma City. The 22-year-old saw action in 20 games last season with the Flames but could have a more difficult time working his way up the depth chart in Edmonton.

    Analysis: Roman Horak's now vacant roster spot will allow the Flames to activate Matt Stajan (leg) off of IR, making him available to play in Thursday's game. Horak has now seen NHL ice-time in each of the last three seasons, so he's a solid bet to get called back up later in the season, especially if the injury bug bites.

In 81 career NHL games, Horak has just five goals, 13 assists and 16 penalty minutes. This season, he's put up three points (a goal and two assists) and a minus-four rating in six games with Abbotsford.
